Ok cowboy, slow your roll! To begin to compare rosters when Sakic or Sakic AND Forsberg were out is bonkers! Was it Tanguay and Drury they made the top 2 Centers and they played great? I think Landeskogs grit and leadership cannot be replaced and just a damn shame for him to go down in a career year. Would have loved to have seen his final numbers over the entire season. I’ve felt for a couple weeks they were sunk but after the CA weekend debacle, it was final. This roster is too thin up front and cannot get reliable much less lights out goaltending this season.

Did the Avs fall apart when they lost Peter Forsberg for the rest of the playoffs after Round 2 in 2001? Did the Avs fall apart when they lost Erik Johnson to a season-ending leg injury toward the end of last season? Did the Avs fall apart when they lost both Forsberg and Joe Sakic to injury at the same time in the ’90s, only to win most every game for about 2-3 weeks?

Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?

There really needs to be some sort of “Like” button for these types of responses. Well Done!

I was expecting a two word article.

“They can’t”

I appreciate the optimism, and I LOVE the idea of playing 7 D. I guess, at the very least, it will be interesting to see how this team responds.

How do you replace the leadership?

Every player in that room can replace it if they put their minds to it. IF

Or, they won’t and the team will nose dive through the end of the year, and we get 2 lotto picks at the draft. No offense AD… but I see my theory as more likely given the trends we’re seeing in the second half of the Avs season.

“It’s time to think out of the box a little bit here, get creative.”

PS – JB hasn’t figured out in game adjustments yet. This is punching way above his weight class.

That Dallas game was the final nail. It showed how valuable Zadorov is. Might as well tank now. And trade Cole.

I remember thinking, when Forsberg went down, that it wouldn’t matter. It seemed like every man was pulling the same way. This group, down the stretch, exhibited similar traits. Andrighetto & Wilson were noticably dangerous. Kerfoot & Barrie were clutch. Z was a monster. Groob was a stone pillar. Lets hope the effort continues, as plenty will be playing for a new contract.
