As you said on twitter before, usually the players you interview the day of a game about recent struggles they have a good game that night. Let’s hope that trend continues with the Avs best player!

Great article. Really looking forward to seeing MacKinnon and the others break through. If they get hot, I could see the Avs riding them back into playoff contention.

Nice work!

Nice to hear this from #29. But talk means very little to me anymore, actions are what count.
And this isn’t just about MacK because all the players say the right things.

What maddens the hell out of me when I think about it is that the players themselves can fix this!
If every guy played consistently to his level of ability (or even near it), this team would be more than fine.
Early in the year, MacKinnon was imposing his will on damned near every shift. And it didn’t matter much who was lined up against him, the results were flat-out domination most nights. It’s been quite some time since we’ve seen that on a consistent basis.
And, again, this applies to every guy that plays for the Avs…not just MacK.
Yeah, I know it’s not that easy because there are real NHL players in the other sweaters.
So what?…they were doing it last Oct – Nov!
Lace ’em up tight, put your head down, and go to work!

Absolutely right. The bottom 9 (outside of Carl) look they are just along for the ride, waiting for the top line to do something. Kerfoot and Compfer both of whom I expected to take big steps forward this year, have been serious disappointments.
