Colton Strickler kicks off the show with ‘The Breakdown’ by talking the lull in MLR news, the weekly Super Rugby update, and the upcoming Premiership Rugby and PRO14 fixtures. After ‘The Breakdown’, Colton chats with USA Rugby Hall of Famer Brian Vizard about his rugby career, how he got into broadcasting, and his work with the U.S. Rugby Foundation. After the conversation with Brian, Colton assigns some required reading and closes the show with ‘The Loop.’
Brian Vizard is an American rugby pioneer. He helped OMBAC win five national championships and two sevens national championships throughout the 1980s. As a member of the Eagles, he played in the first-ever Rugby World Cup in 1987 and captained the United States in the 1991 Rugby World Cup. He also played in the first-ever Sevens Rugby World Cup in 1993. He was inducted into the U.S. Rugby Hall of Fame in 2016. Vizard has spent his life giving back to rugby since retiring from playing. In addition to his work as a broadcaster, he has also served as the Executive Director of the U.S. Rugby Foundation since 2004.
