Hey guys

With all these “quote of quote” sack we’ve been getting in practice and the lack of offense that’s been happening these 4 practices, is it time to throw the red flag and panic on what the offense could be?!

I know our front is poised to be great so hopeful it’s just because our defense is going to rock out this season!!
Much love- Ethan

What’s up boys,

I noticed yesterday during Bouye’s press call, that when asked about his matchups against the Broncos receivers, he had good things to say about Jeudy and Hamler but didn’t mention Courtland I took this as shade did anyone else notice?

Also, how do Glasgow’s comments about the defensive front (even depth guys like Agim) in response to Mase’s question in his press call change your outlook on the defensive line, if at all? Based on what I’m hearing seems like we should be better against the run this season.

As always stay safe and thanks so much for the great content..

Hello Gentlemen. First, please allow me to say thank you for all of your hard work, not only with this pod but with everytbing DNVR has been doing since late March. It’s truly appreciated and not unnoticed.

I write today because on yesterday’s podcast, during the question portion, Andrew mentioned how great it would be if the Nuggets won their series with the Jazz and then next season, fans at the Pepsi Center would belt out an 8 count when ever Donovan Mitchell brought the ball upcourt.

That reminded me about the Alabama – LSU National Championship game back in 2012. Alabama won and their defense was so dominant, that LSU didn’t cross midfield once. Later that year when the schools basketball teams met up in Tuscaloosa, the Bama faithfully all cheered when the LSU basketball team brought the ball across mid court for the first time that game.

Have a great day!

In general, what positional battles are the hardest to predict/measure during regular (non-covid) training camps?

I’ve written some pretty expletive laden posts in the past, asking for you guys to calm me down on Jerry Jeudy (“JJ”). You could never do it. Now, here we are. He is on the field at camp, and now every person with a mic in their face is making it worse. I don’t think I’ll be able to handle him not being outrageously good on game day.

So I honestly can’t remember a rookie getting as much praise as JJ out of camp. Ever. Am I right on that? Not Von, not Chubb – not to this extent anyway. Whose the last offensive rookie to get even close to this much hype for the broncos?

Spending of WR hype. What’s happening with Ruggs? Is he getting the same sort of hype?

Thanks for the coverage gents. I now no longer listen to the pod – I watch it. Mainly because Zac’s shirts and getup is pretty loud, but not loud enough through the mic yet – but you keep at it lad, one day your fashion will mainfest itself in sound into our ears. I can’t wait.

Why are you guys, Mase in particular, so concerned about Driskel’s subpar play at QB? Wouldn’t we pretty much expect to be screwed anyway if Lock goes down for any significant amount of time?

Also, please elaborate on the incident you keep referring to lately about Kevin Hogan getting Theo Riddick hurt last year.

Thanks for the great coverage,

I feel the best example is the 2015 superbowl year. Peyton goes out for a few games, brock comes in and ensures home field advantage. Its best to be ready for anything!

i’m not usually THAT guy (ya know the one who wants the broncos to bring back sloter/chad kelly/tebow etc) but enough time has passed and the offense is different enough that they probably should consider siemian to be the backup. he’s out here going on visits to detroit. i’m sure he’ll come back to denver if they call lol

1) Since 2014, approximately 50 percent of all teams have had to turn to their backup at some point in the season due to injury/illness or ineffectiveness. For the Broncos, it’s even worse: their Week 1 starter succumbed to injury/illness in five of those six years (remember in 2014, Manning was ill at San Diego, and Osweiler had to relieve him). The only primary starter to make it through a season unscathed was Case Keenum in 2018. Point being, the chances are pretty good that you will have to rely on your backup for key snaps. Chase Daniel was there on the market but the Broncos didn’t snap him up (and indeed, he was Driskel’s replacement in Detroit).

2) Hogan was off-target on a pass to Riddick out of the backfield in the preseason loss at Seattle. It was the quintessential example of a QB leaving his receiving target out to dry, forcing him to absorb contact that could have been avoided with an on-target throw.

it’s wednesday so we’re gonna get MAD!! and today we’re mad at mr connor mcgovern (not really but ya know)

he had a presser with the jets and he said- and bear in mind that he’s only been working in person with his teammates for 2 weeks- that the unity on the jets o-line is the best he’s ever been around. he also said that the jets offense is the closest he’s been around and they’re not ‘cliquey’.

there’s some pandering to the new york media, no doubt. but does he really expect people to believe this? i’m getting flashbacks to devontae booker throwing keenum under the bus when he said flacco ‘talks to everyone’ lol

also, just a general comment. remember last year when the broncos were doing joint practices with the 49ers (and their foghorn)? and the 49ers- specifically the defense- were much more fired up than vic’s broncos and it showed on the field. were y’all surprised they made the SB after what y’all saw and is this current broncos defense showing similar levels of intensity?

Yo fellas,

Is there any indication that Bradley Chubb isn’t 100% healthy? No knee braces, or limping, or tentative on certain plays, etc?

Also, and by some distance, this is my shortest post ever, surely I deserve a round of applause?

Peace Out

Hey guys, been awhile and glad to be back. Two questions. Is it me or has it been dangerously quiet on the Bolles front so far this camp? Like, almost nothing good or bad, which I guess is good? What have you guys seen thus far? Should we be encouraged?

And second, with no preseason has Vic offered up how he plans to get a “game type” look at the back half of the roster?

Thanks!
Always listening…

Hi my DNVR friends,
I’ve been living in DraftKings Sportsbook and have discovered the art of parlays. Anyway, I’m still extremely concerned about the offensive line. Do you guys have anything on a positive side about the offensive line? Despite the fact that Cushenberry and Dotson is not in the starting lineup yet. We can only go as far as our weakest link. Also do you think it would be better for our D-line to abuse these offensive linemen until they’re finally tired of living in a world of suck?
Thanks guys! Go Broncos, Nuggets, Avs, and Phils

Good day, gents!

Yesterday’s conversation about counting to taunt Donovan Mitchell reminds me of going to visit a friend in Tuscon to watch UofA hockey games in the mid-90’s. They had a tradition of waiting until a score was announced (“Goal by So-and-so at 1:30” or some such), and laid in to the goalie with “He shoots, he scores! Hey, goalie…YOU SUCK,” which usually lasted until just after the next faceoff. Pretty normal stuff, except on one memorable night, when Ice Cats scored *again*, right as we were all yelling “YOU SUCK!”

Taunting can be magical.

All this Jay Cutler talk, didn’t he smoke cigarettes? I only ask because it reminded me of last years pod when you guys were talking about Joe Flacco vaping haha

Do very many football players smoke or vape? Nicotine of course but are rules different in terms of the substance policy in states where marijuana is illegal?

Great question. I want to dovetail off of that. Last week, Dalton Risner mentioned that Lloyd Cushenberry, III had been supplying the offensive line room with dip, which I don’t think was the French onion or ranch variety. Do Risner and the offensive linemen chew tobacco at the team facility? Besides the many health reasons not do so, it seems like a particularly poor idea right now to be ejecting spittle during the current pandemic.

That is a good example. And yet in the end, Osweiler turned out to be horrible. I’m really not sure what to make of it.

Sooo isn’t this we get mad Wednesdays welp i got something to get mad about …..Dear fantasy world STOP SLEEPING.ON THE BRONCOS U DO IT EVERY YEAR EVERY FREAKING YEAR ….in 2018 Emmanuel was having an incredible camp and I’m seeing him ranked 25 .. before he tore his ACL that year he was the wr 7 !!!! …..ur ignoring drew lock with all these weapons as a sleeper qb stash but we’re bigging up Daniel Jones seriously ??? ….. courtland is a top 10 or top 8 wr in the NFL in a ton of NFL anaylyst minds from Nate Burleson to Daniel.jerimah and buckey brooks to PFF, to around the nfl podcast and NBC sports with Chris Simms and bleacher report …. But u have him as wr 22 In fantasy !!!!! Seriously ??? He’s not top 20 …but DJ chark and DJ Moore are ….and they keep talking about his target share …. But we’re 3 days in with pads in camp and it looks like courts getting 60% or more of the targets to me ?? QUALITY TARGETS !!!!! …… We’re saying Shurmur is going to run the ball that’s a run first offense with the bronco’s Matthew Berry right ?? But shurmur has historically got his wr1 and wr2 100 targets ….. Sooo last and far from least ….. The last great route runner coming out of Alabama Calvin Ridley had 812 yards for 56 catches and 10 tds …the one before that amari Cooper had 72 catches 1002 yards and 7 tds ….(and that’s was with Derek Carr who we did not know was going to be anything but medicore in 2015) Cooper and Crabtree balled that year ……. But Jerry jeudy is borderline not worth drafting and he’s just as good as those guys if not better but DRAFT CEDEE LAMB AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE !!!! IM ANNOYED TO NO END WITH THE FANTASY WORLDS DISRESPECT PISSES ME OFF Smh ….do right by us ! Sucks having to defend your team when some people don’t watch film and take their advice from Madden and the fantasy world about ur team ? whatever #LETEMSLEEP

Hey Guys! I just subscribed today! I know that everybody is really excited about our high draft picks, but I was also really excited about the Broncos drafting Derek Tuszka. I was wondering if he was looking better than a 7th round draft pick or if he is destined to barely make the practice squad? Love the podcast and keep the great information coming!
