Rams land another Boston College transfer

FORT COLLINS, Colo. — Elijah Johnson has transferred to Colorado State.

The former Boston College offensive lineman entered the transfer portal back in May and according to a school spokesperson, Johnson has since signed with the Rams.

The news was originally reported by Kevin Stevens of the Binghamton Press & Bulletin.  In an article about Adam Kortutz, one of the three former Eagles linemen to transfer to CSU since Steve Addazio was hired in December, CSU’s offensive line coach Louie Addazio is quoted:

“Building an offensive line takes time and you’ve got to do it brick-by-brick, there are no shortcuts. So, bringing in Adam, Cam Reddy and Elijah Johnson, merging with the guys we had here and all coming together for one shared goal. Those three guys know the system and they know some of the verbiage so that helps.”

Johnson has been injury plagued throughout his career. After playing in 12 games and starting 10 at left guard as a freshman in 2016, he missed the 2017 and 2018 seasons with a knee injury. Johnson did see limited action in a couple of games in 2019 but did not make any starts.

Prior to his collegiate career, Johnson won three consecutive conference titles at DeMatha Catholic High School (Maryland). Now a member of the green and gold, though, Ram fans will hope to see the 6-foot-5, 300-pound offensive lineman revive his career in the Mountain West.
