Drew and Patrick,
I’ve seen how well Nolan has been hitting during Spring Training 2.0. While that’s obviously encouraging (and the norm for Nolan), are you at all concerned about Rockies pitching?

Hi, Laurel.
I’m not too concerned with the pitching, especially since we’re looking at two factors: pitchers gearing up and not being as far along in the process as hitters AND, as you’ve eluded to, Arenado is a generational player that could make the last NL Cy Young Award winners look foolish.
The downside for this season is that all pitchers will have a shorter leash in regards to poor performances. Over a six month season, you can withstand a handful of less than average starts since we’re looking at a marathon. Now, it’s a sprint and back-to-back poor starts could mean removing a player from the rotation in hopes the next guy might figure it out.
Thanks for reaching out. Keeping the comments and questions coming. 🙂
Best Wishes,
Patrick
