FORT COLLINS, Colo. — Colorado State football has returned to the Lone Star State — this time for Tyler Quinn, a three-star defensive lineman out of Duncanville High School (Duncanville, TX).

Quinn, who is listed at 6-foot-3, 290 pounds, currently holds 17 offers according to 247Sports. Some of the schools interested in Quinn are Air Force, Army, Navy, Hawaii and UNLV. But even with his choice of the service academies, a tropical paradise or Sin City, Quinn is opting to take his talents to Ram Country.

Although the earliest Quinn would be able to sign his National Letter of Intent is Dec. 16, if he does end up playing for the Rams, he’ll have a familiar face around him on campus. Back in the 2020 cycle, CSU was able to land Quinn’s high school teammate and fellow defensive tackle, James Mitchell.

Much likes how the Rams have established ties with Mater Dei High School in California and Navarre High School in Florida, CSU seems to have established a strong connection with the perennial Texas powerhouse. Duncanville HS was undefeated prior to the 6A State Championship game last fall; and they have reached the title game in back-to-back years overall.

Moving forward, it will be interesting to see if the green and gold can land more prospects from the dominant program but it’s definitely encouraging to see CSU hitting certain schools hard in Steve Addazio’s first couple of recruiting cycles.

Establishing a consistent presence in states like Colorado, California, Florida and Texas will be crucial to the Rams’ future success. And so far, the approach has been really good.

Along with Quinn, CSU recently added a verbal from local prospect Mukendi Wa-Kalonji. Wa-Kalonji is a three-sport athlete out of Grandview High School in Aurora.
