Gents – what’s your favorite broncos “call” of all time (not in a Super Bowl)? Mine is Dave Logan’s call of Tebow to DT “it’s over! It’s over in Denver.”
Love
The Count.

” You can stand up and salute in Denver, the world Champs live in your town! ” Mr. Logan of course. I know it’s a Super Bowl butt the Broncs were 0-4 before then. The D.T. call may be just as good?

Hey guys,
Can’t wait for the draft! 2 questions.
1. I am re watching the Manning years. In a 2012 game I heard the commentators say that Champ Bailey mentioned he hadn’t had the same defensive coordinator from one season to the next for the last 10 season. Is this true? How did that happen? If so, that seems like a bigger issue to me than us having had different offensive coordinators every year since John Fox.
2. In the first 3 rounds of this year’s draft, who would be picks that you would just absolutely shake your heads at?
Keep up the great work fellas!
Jraeder14
Mase, for the hypothetical 1st/2nd team all-decade team CB ranks, you were adamant that PP would be a 1st teamer. However, you did not mention Revis for the discussion, who I believe was THE top CB in the 2010s. He covered the best wr every week and was a true shutdown corner. I am a huge fan of PP and think he’s a stud, but there’s only 1 Revis Island.

Hey fellas!!
Been quiet for awhile, had a lot of change going on in my life. Actually just moved here to Denver so I can’t wait to come to the bar when everything gets back to normal! Maybe I should change my name to DenverPreston???
Awhile back I saw some “local bloggers” (they actually were writers for MHR) talking about how toxic the fan base was in regards to how they were towards Callahan and James. I guess they didn’t like all the “who’s that?” and “that’s not a real player” comments on Broncos posts about them. I thought this was a weak take, but what do you guys think? Do jokes like that affect players at all?
Can I send out a DNVR check in for a fellow member? If so, I was hoping to check in on NotPhillipLindsay. Last time he commented, it sounded like he’s going through a tough time. Just want to make sure he’s okay. As someone who’s been through some tough mental times, I just hope he knows he’s not alone.
Thanks for all you do to provide some normalcy in these crazy times. Much love and God bless!

Mountains > Beach
I’ve been blessed to live within 30 minutes of some of the worlds great beaches in Queensland, Australia – but the three years I spent living in Cherry Creek from 1990-1993 (I was 9 months old on arrival) put the mountains in my blood.
The first time I went back to Denver in Jan 2018, after not being there since 1996, was surreal. “Like coming home to a place I’d never been before”. Yes I am the character from Rocky Mountain High; and yes I listen to it on repeat when I get “home sick”.
There is absolutely NOTHING like the grandeur of the mountains.
In a pretty trying time for all, it’s important to share thanks and appreciation for all that matters.
You three are my connection the mountains every day. Even the adds give me a sense of connectivity. Who’d have thought the Denver rubber company would strike such a chord. Pretty intense realisation to be honest, but can’t thank you all enough.
Can’t wait for The Lounge. Let’s see how long The Count can hold a conversation in character ???

Mase, congrats on the Bucs no longer having the worst unis in the league!! Have you all seen the leaks for the Falcons new ones? The leak is on @ustadium on Instagram and they look pretty clean. Can’t wait for Denver to switch it back to the old ‘D.’ Powder Blue over royal any day!

Hey guys, just played Henry in the Madden league last night, I lost again leaving me at 0-8 with RK, so you should know due to tie breaking procedures I’m actually set to have the first overall pick. Still deciding on if I want Burrow or if I should get Young and then get Love or Herbert later With the first I got from Spano for Tyreek Hill. But it was great fun and Henry’s great company, if you bump into him today tell him MileHighMike said hi.
Regarding the Buccs new Unis I like them a lot. They’re clean and I think Zac was disagreeing just for the sake of good content, you guys usually agree a lot and I bet he just wanted to get some debate going. The only thing that bothers me is that on the red and white jerseys the numbers are outlined with two colors while the Pewter Jersey numbers are only outlined in one. If you don’t know what I mean by this I’ll elaborate on tomorrow’s pod. Also in honor of the new unis Fox Sports posted some Mike Alstott highlights from back in the day and wow what a monster, Mase what was your favorite Alstott play?
Much love from Vegas
I have spoken, MileHighMike.

What’s up my guys! Alright I got a long one for you today and I’m very sorry but I think it’s worth your time! I’ve come around to the belief that all 3 WRs and OTs will be gone by 15, so I have decided on a trade down scenario (I know I know Ryan, just hear me out!) the Baltimore Ravens are a super bowl contender with very few holes on there roster, so extra picks is really something they don’t need. Edge is one of those few holes, at 15 the second best edge rusher is sitting right for the taking. (K’Lavon Chaisson) and the ravens come calling. We agree to trade pick number 15 in exchange for pick number 28, 55, and 60. So here’s how that works out.
RD.1 Pick 28- Brandon Aiyuk
RD.2 pick 46- Ezra Cleveland
RD.2 pick 55- Jeremy Chinn
RD.2 pick 60- LaViska Shenault
RD. 3 pick 77- Bryce Hall
RD. 3 pick 83- Tyler Biadasz
RD. 3. Pick 95- Troy Dye
I know, I know, that’s a lot of players to take in one draft but maybe take the rest of the picks from round 4-7 and trade them for idk, future assets or whatever. I feel this draft would be perfect in almost every way. I think the trade draft compensation was fair and made sense for all parties. What’s do you guys think? Sorry about the long one.
P.S. I have a feeling Shenault is going to fall a lot with the injuries and that’s criminal, dude Deserves to go first round, but I think it’s only fitting Denver ends the fall!

Fellas, my handle caused some confusion last time. Im a basketball player from NC. No tar heel here… go wolfpack! When you play well in basketball it is said that you “ball out”. The moral is that my handle, although outdated, means that you guys are ballers. Im excited to change it with the DNVR rebrand. Mase I agree, NC bbq is the best. Eastern Carolina sauce please. The Slomo mention makes my world seem small. The wife and I moved to San Diego 4 years ago; Slomo is inspirational to us all. Congrats on the bar boys – truly innovative. I can’t wait to visit. Football question – It seems to me that Von Miller’s best asset is his ability to time the snap count. Many times he seems to cross the line of scrimmage in unison with the ball. However, it seems moreso the past couple years he is called offsides for it. Am I in the minority thinking most of those calls are bogus? Also, do you think him trying to avoid offsides penalties held him back last year? You guys are awesome – keep it up!

Hey guys, just wanted to thank Mase for the link! And to the community: get the book! I only finished about the first 50 pages, but can already tell that Mase‘s style of writing is as awesome as his podcast contributions! And good news: also the Kindle version includes 2015, as it is the 2017 version!
THANKS! Love

Just watched the mock draft.
First of all – god help us all that was terrible and I hope it was scripted to create a feeling urgency for all of us because If that is how it falls on draft day I’ll be in full blown breakdown mode.
Second – you trade down if that happens. You head way down to the bottom of the first or top of the second. Then you take every pick from rounds 4-7 and them into whatever you can get in rounds 2 and 3.
So question then – you’ve got to trade back from 15. How many top 100 picks can you get if you take ALL current picks outside the top 100 and trade them to take positions in the top 100.
(Think of it as, you MUST trade any selection not 16-100 to get picks within that range, at fair value, and you can also trade picks within the top 100 to move up in that range – clear as mud, right?)

hey guys;
are there any deep sleepers on the current roster that you think will have a bigger role on the team than we’re all projecting? patrick morris is probably the most popular answer, but i’m convinced that shakial taylor is a bigger factor than some think.
he’s got good size, ran a 4.39 at his pro-day and has pretty good ball skills (3 ints including a pick-6 in his final season at KU). i remember watching that colts vs chiefs game last year and the colts had him occasionally lined up on kelce in the slot- and he managed to break up a pass intended for him.
in recent years, a lot of players that have gotten an erfa tender have gone on to be significant contributors to the team (brandon marshall, todd davis, matt paradis, shaq barret, shelby harris, tim patrick, elijah wilkinson etc)
am i reaching or are we sleeping on shak taylor? gotta say it would be some nice poetic justice if chris harris gets ‘replaced’ by another udfa corner from ku

Hey guys,
This is probably a Mase question. Is there a stat for football similar to war for baseball?
SirJamesRadio
I wanted to leave a profound comment today but then I saw the Falcons uniforms and now I’m sick.
Also, the week starts on Wednesday because I have Monday’s and Tuesday’s off and despite what my parents told me to the contrary, the world revolves around me??
Keep up the great work you 3!
MileHighMike
Hey guys, another double comment cause I just watched the parascope mock draft and I was curious.
You guys already ranked the top three Receivers. Jeudy, Ruggs then Lamb third. BUT…. say Elway wheels and deals and gets up to the top 10, ALL THREE ARE THERE. Who does ELWAY pick? What do you guys think?
I have spoken, MileHighMike.

With the draft going digital or virtual, is this an opportunity for the team itself to provide some behind the scenes or all-access stuff that fans could watch on Zoom, Periscope, etc.? Obviously the security of their information is crucial, but it seems like an interesting opportunity with them controlling the content rather than ESPN, NFL Network, etc. Do you see anything along these lines happening?

Just wanted to chime in on “The Great Buy or Wait PS4 Debate of 2020” (feel free to just read the bullet points or even skip over this comment entirely since it’s so unrelated to sports… sorry).
In these times, I suggest buy a PS4 and here’s why:
-Affordability: New or used, the PS4 or certain bundles is really cheap
-Backwards Compatible: All the games you buy will be backward compatible with the PS5 so buying games now will not become obsolete
-Updates & Bundles: If we learned anything from the PS3 & PS4, the first iteration is usually buggy and it’s worth waiting for a few months for system software updates. Also, limited edition bundles or the consoles slim version have historically been a better buy
It’s not quite like a new phone where a new one will come out 10-months later and with these trying times, get yourself a PS4 and start living your best life! Now back to sports!!
Onion Booty Bronco
This is Onion reporting for Booty!
I have this creepy crawly fear that, in the first round, the Broncos will draft a player outside of a dire need. What players other than those at the receiver and offensive tackle positions could we, after a deep think and fitful sleep, come to terms with as a sneaky good addition? For example, Fangio likes to move his safeties around and Kareem Jackson is no spring chicken. Does that mean we could go versatile safety in round one? Is there a corner that might tickle John’s fancy in an effort to recreate a No Fly Zone-esque secondary? What about D Line, assuming Kinlaw is off the board? Mase, dare I ask if there’s a bionic leg to draft in the first round—or heaven help me, a wiley backup quarterback?! (Onion Booty jokes.)
Anyway, back to biz… Can you tell I’m trying to get ahead of the heartbreak?! Let the premature retrospective justification party begin!
Tenderly,
Onion Booty

BLUF- last day is Saturday, first day is Monday, Sunday is it’s own deal.
Alright this will probably be long. Please feel free to skip it,
but we’ve stumbled onto the topic of the Bible so here I am! I hope y’all find this interesting but I’d like to explain as best I can why christians moved their holy day from Saturday to Sunday.
On the calendar: The Jewish calendar has Sunday as day one, ending in the sabbath, a Saturday. As Mase said: God rested on the 7th day. This is why our Jewish friends sabbath on Saturday. Every week you work your hardest and then rest at the end to recharge and honor God.
Fast forward to Jesus, who changed everything by modeling a different rhythm of life. He would break work on the sabbath sometimes and go away to rest at times during the week. He said “Sabbath is not a rule to keep but a gift to receive.” So he displayed communing with God throughout the week regardless of the calendar day. Jesus’ message was that God was no longer waiting for us to come before him but was moving close to us by restoring our relationship with him and giving us constant access to his presence and rest. Jesus then was killed on a Friday (which we will remember this Friday- Good Friday) and was laid to rest, so he “rested” Saturday. Then he stopped being dead on Sunday morning. (Easter) That’s why most Christians gather on Sunday, to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus and carry that good news with them into the week.
Now, all that is to say that Monday most definitely feels like the first day of the week in our culture. Sunday is it’s own thing to me. Last day of the week is Saturday, the first Monday, and Sunday is like a holiday.

Hey boys! I listened to this episode of the pod through my computer speakers which is not my usual method. While Zac was talking about Google determining if Peyton Manning is better known as a Colt or Bronco, my phone picked up on his voice and Googled “Peyton Manning.” The quick result showed Peyton in a Colts jersey. Regardless, I had to laugh at my phone picking up Zac’s voice. We must have similar voices.

Hello Guys… Been a while since I last commented, but I have a couple of nagging questions that I wanted to get your thoughts about. It is regarding ranking the top 5 QBs and WRs prospects in this upcoming draft.
For the QBs, specifically Herbert, Love, and Tua. I have listened to someone who is a former NFL quarterback who has them ranked 2, 3, and 4 respectively. I only ask because I really don’t want the Chargers (or Raiders if they are so inclined) to draft anyone elite.
For the WRs, specifically Jerry Jeudy. This same former NFL qb says that Jeudy is outside his top 5 (#6 to be exact). I found this shocking since so many people have Jeudy as #1. But I see his reasoning. He says Jeudy doesn’t possess any elite physical traits. He doesn’t have elite speed, not the strongest, just an ok vertical, etc. What do you guys think?
Until Next Time

Hey guys,
I’ll make it short sweet and to the point today. How high can we get in the draft by trading 15 overall and one of of our 3rd round picks. Would that get us high enough to get one of the top 3 WRs? I do not see any of them falling to us at 15.
That’s all for today. Stay safe, 15 days until the draft!

Fast food dollar menus would like to have something to say about $1 bills being “not worth anything”, also certain clubs but I feel less is better said about that…. after all this is a family pod ??

I got Mase’s book about two weeks ago and it’s really weirding me out that I often hear Mase in my head while I’m reading it. I am not normally a reader but it’s the perfect book to pickup and read when you have a few minutes because it’s kind of set up like a bunch of short stories.
Your draft last night made me pretty nervous that we aren’t going to get one of the top 3 WR or either or the top 2 tackles (Wirfs and Thomas are the only two I would be happy with at 15) if this happens I hope we trade down. Anything other than those 5 at that spot seems like a reach to me. Assuming that Young, Simmons, and Okuda are off the table of course.

Speaking of the first day of the week, the strangest one was when I lived and worked in Saudi Arabia for 3 years. Their holy day is on Friday and until recent years their weekend was Thursday and Friday. They changed it a few years back to Friday and Saturday to better correspond with the rest of the world’s Saturday and Sunday weekend, for international business reasons. Watching the Broncos was a pain because they came on Sunday night (the equivalent to Monday night in the US) at around 11pm or so. That always left me with the dilemma of either staying up all hours of the night on a weeknight to watch it live and being dead at work the next day, or skipping the game live, going to work all day on Monday and having to keep completely off of the internet and hoping none of my coworkers mentioned anything to ruin it for me (which a few times they did unintentionally). One of the hassles of living abroad, although there were plenty of unique and amazing things about it as well.
