Help DNVR, Denver Stiffs, and HopeKids CO send kids to a Denver Nuggets game

DNVR is proud to be teaming up with HopeKids CO and Denver Stiffs for a charity ticket drive to help send kids who are battling cancer and other life-threatening illnesses to watch the Denver Nuggets take on the Utah Jazz at Pepsi Center.

HopeKids CO is a Denver based non-profit organization that works with families who have children that have been diagnosed with life-threatening illnesses. HopeKids provides ongoing events, activities and a powerful, unique support community for families who have a child with cancer or some other life-­threatening medical condition. Their message and mission statement is that hope can be a powerful medicine.

Here at DNVR, we believe in the power of sports. One of the reasons that we are so drawn toward sports is because of how they inspire us to be our best and to push through in difficult times. Sports also bring us together and provide a sense of community.

For many families in the HopeKids program, much of their children’s lives have been spent in hospitals, isolated from the activities that define a typical childhood like playing sports, going to parks and festivals, and attending live sports events. This charity event allows these kids an afternoon away from the hospital or treatment center and let’s them cheer on the Denver Nuggets while meeting other families who are in the program. Being surrounded by people who are going through similar battles with cancer can help those families feel like they aren’t alone.

Last year, Denver Stiffs raised over $10,000 for this event and sent over 500 people to the game. This year, DNVR and Denver Stiffs are partnering to make the event, already the largest event of the year for HopeKids CO, even bigger.

There are two ways for you to donate to this event.

1. Buy tickets for a HopeKids child and their family. You can purchase a ticket directly from the Denver Nuggets ticket website by following the link above. The Nuggets have offered HopeKids a discounted rate for this game. For just $15, you can send one person in the HopeKids program to watch the Nuggets take on the Jazz on April 5th. You can purchase as many tickets as you’d like. 100% of tickets sold will go towards HopeKids.

2. BUY OUR SOCKS. You can purchase our brand new, DNVR black flag logo socks from Hoopswagg. These premium quality socks are the most comfortable socks you will have in your sock drawer. Designed by DNVR’s Eric Wedum (D-Line Co), these socks will both look incredible and also serve as a reminder that you helped out with a great cause. The socks are selling for $14.99 and $10 of every pair sold will go towards HopeKids for this event with any excess money raised going towards HopeKids to fund other events and programs.
