Hard to swallow pill: CU football is a below-average program. Average programs regularly make bowl games (and sometimes win them). Barring one year in 2016, we’ve had a hard time hanging with the dogs, not just the big dogs. woof.

Tucker was able to bring in some very talented players with this draft class. I truly believe that Karl can take the program to a bowl game in 2020, and possibly even win that bowl game.

He believes in processes, character, and people. All the important things.
One of the biggest criticisms for him was recruiting, possibly because he’s been in the NFL for so long… I’ll say this: As the program wins, as players are developed (on and off the field), as the profile of CU football is elevated, as players get drafted into the NFL, these are all things that go into recruiting. Now there’s a lot more that goes into it, but that’s for the start.

I’m excited, I’m bought in. I hope Chev stays on staff. I hope the team improves. I hope this pans out. Call it skeptical optimism.

Listen… Next time you pause to look something up, don’t tell us… Just make it sound like you know all the numbers off the top of your head, since we can’t tell when you pause it!

My assumption on the rankings were that Stanford and USC are both higher than CU, and I didn’t call that out. I also thought Jimmy Lake was getting $3.3MM, but he is “only” getting $3.0MM, so he is 7th with my Cristobal assumptions. The claim that he is 3rd is patently false though, and the assistant pool amount needs to grow by 10-20% every year until CU is in the top 3-4 in the PAC-12, if CU is serious about competing for championships. Just my opinion.
