That’s the most dominant fight win I’ve seen in a long time! It’s good to see him stick up for Donskoi. Hope he’s not hurt.

KADRI sent a message to the rest of the league….he won the battle and maybe it helps us win the war, I.e. hands off our skill players or a beat down is coming

Is there a chance Kadri gets suspended for what he did to Lindgren?

Much higher chance Lindgren faces some kind of discipline

Worst showing of the year so far, and let’s hope it’s the worst for the season. I personally have trouble faulting Grubauer too much in this one given how poorly the team played in front of him. The 4th goal was all on Z (I think it was him in front). These days defending in front of the net is about denying the offensive player his stick. When the puck bounced out to the top of the crease on that goal, the Ranger player had his stick on the ice and made an easy pass for an open net goal. Z on the other hand had his stick up over his shoulders doing absolutely no good whatsoever. If I were the coach, we would have a long and brutally honest film session on the plane ride home before the day off, toss that tape in the trash, and then start fresh on Thursday with a good practice to kick off a 5 game home stand. I’m not sure what kind of turning point this game will be in the season, but I think it will be one – for good or for ill, we’ll find out.

Grubauer’s been out of position quite a bit. Take the 3rd PP goal, he’s so far to his right, trying to peak around the screen, leaving the left side of the net wide open for a shot from the blue line by Skjei to go in easily. I couldn’t believe he left the net open like that for a point shot…absolutely cannot happen.

Should he hold his position to the point he can’t see the puck? How do YOU fight through a screen without moving?

Kadri’s beatdown of Lindgren was one of the better Avalanche retaliations I can ever remember. I’m not usually that in to that aspect of the game, but I sincerely enjoyed that one. I thought Lindgren’s hit was cheap and high and he deserved the street justice he got. The league’s Department of Safety should be thanking Kadri for policing dirty hits.

Personally I don’t think Cole and Z is a good working pair. Neither seem to be sink with one another when it comes to coverage in front of the net. I would hope Bednar makes a change before playing Pittsburgh on Friday?

I feel like this team can’t handle success. Something weird happens to the team psyche when the hockey world views them as front-runners and they just fall apart.

I share concerns with Grubi, as this stretch is eerily similar to last year….but I don’t see a tracking problem. He needs to pull some of these saves through traffic out on nights when he’s not getting help. He needs to be just a bit better in those situations. High-low screens and weird blocks/tips from his own team have been an issue all season. We’ve seen a concentration of them in the last three weeks. I just find it odd that when the defense is hard on pucks and doesn’t check with just their eyes, Grubi’s tracking is fine. When the defenders stand around waiting for pucks to come to them, don’t contest shots, tie up sticks, etc. apparently Grubi’s tracking gets shitty? Weird coincidence. I doubt it’s a coincidence that the passive collapsing PK has the same issues.

What’s the best nightclub in NYC? I bet a few Avs players know…

Kadri’s instigation penalty ticks me off. Can anyone remember the last time an opposing player got an instigation penalty for an assault on an Avs player? Neither can I although our guys get jumped and beaten on plenty by big fat instigators. I thought the instigation penalty had been fazed out because I haven’t seen one in so long despite multiple attacks on Avs players that don’t even hardly fight back.
