Colton kicks off the show with a very short version of “The Breakdown” presented by O’Neills by talking about the Los Angeles Sevens, MLR’s leading scorer moving to RUNY, and all of the rugby you can watch this weekend (0:00-7:21). Following “The Breakdown”, Colton talks with American Raptor and one of the newest members of the Dallas Jackals Sam Phillips about his fall season, signing with the Jackals, and how excited he is to be back in Texas (7:23-23:21). Following the interview with Sam, Colton conducts the first-ever interview associated with this week’s “Required Reading” as graphic designer Cameron Kinchen joins the show to discuss the direction World Rugby might go with NFTs (23:23-58:12). After some NFT talk with Cameron, Colton closes the show with “The Loop” (58:14-1:00:05).
Sam Phillips joined the Colorado XOs in January 2021 and just wrapped his second season of rugby with the American Raptors in the fall. After just one year of rugby, Phillips will become the latest crossover athlete from the program to make the leap to Major League Rugby as the former Louisiana College tight end turned rugby lock inked a deal with the Dallas Jackals for the 2022 season.
Cameron Kinchen is a freelance graphic designer that cut his teeth in the world of sports. Most recently, Kinchen has run headfirst into the world of NFTs. Kinchen has been an integral piece of the foundation of the Tools of Rock NFTs. All of Kinchen’s work can be found here.
