I’m loving the start to Teddys season and, while i’m not nearly ready to crown him the future, it’s been a very encouraging start. With Drew there was the hope of a “josh allen” season and i was thinking best case scenario with Teddy may be a Ryan Tannehill season.

Over 17 games Tannehill was on pace for 37 TDs, 10 picks, a 70% completion percentage, and 4600 yards. i was curious whether you guys thought this is in the realm of possibility for Teddy and, if so, you’d be willing to give him Tannehill’s contract (4 yr/120 million).

This is obviously way early but it’s always fun to think about best case scenarios.

I have to admit I’ve always had a soft spot for Teddy, I loved his potential and was afraid he’d be one more great talent that never got the opportunity to reach his full potential. Getting to see him up close has me sold on his as a starting QB, as bummed as I am Lock didn’t pan out.

The most telling thing I’ve seen so far that this guy is the real deal apart from his stats Sunday, Von’s comments to him on the sideline. Very reminiscent of his words to Peyton right before SB50. Telling Teddy how much he loved the pre game speech and he hasn’t felt that fire from a QB since he was a kid, that’s a huge statement because the comments were caught from a nearby cameraman, not said to the media. I’m 1000% on board this train and hope we get to see what we thought he could be when the Vikings snatched him up. Here’s to 17-0!

No one can’t deny Teddy balled out vs the giants, he had to overcome a bad fumble call, a dropped TD and converted multiple 4th downs.
But here is my concern, is this level of play sustainable with the margin of error decreasing as the season wears on?

Let’s remember the Broncos had only scored three points until right up to half time, before Teddy unveiled his magic. Another slow start.

Shouldn’t a good offensive team be avoiding 4th down conversions all together?

Old Vic would have punted or went for a FG on all those TD possessions if his back wasn’t against the wall.

Yes, I know you can go down the old “ offense needs time to gel etc” but, he is a veteran and the receiving core talent is pretty darn good.

Am I justified in my fears or just burnt by many years of failure?

I won’t get into the details, maybe you guys can depending on time, but WOW is it clear teddy was the right move. The coaches are comfortable going for it on 4th down at least semi-regularly. I’ll keep it short and sweet. That’s it fellas, keep up the phenomenal coverage.

What’s your takeaway from the Giants/WFT game last night? Washington supposedly has a top tier defense but it seems like they let Daniel Jones run around and put up more points than the Broncos D.

Also, are there any players that were quiet last week that you expect to make some noise this week? Seems like the obvious choices are going to be PS2 and possibly Justin Strnad. What do you guys think?

Very concerning hearing the old stories about Keenum ignoring the other players. Who comes to mind as some of the top locker room guys in Broncos history?

Context and the level of competition faced matter.
Two thoughts for people like Zac who think that Teddy played an amazing game and is the next Drew Brees.

1. The exact same middle of the road team playing to their exact same ability will lose to the best team in the league 27-13’ish, and beat the worst team 27-13’ish.
As we just saw, the Giants just lost and gave up 30 points to a team whose starting QB was in his first NFL start, and even more significantly, is a season removed from sitting on the BENCH in the XFL.

2. If not for us throwing out 50 years of NFL history and going w/analytics:
– Our 37 yard field goal would’ve been a 55 yard attempt, or a punt.

– Patrick’s touchdown would’ve been a punt from midfield.

– Albert O.’s touchdown would’ve been a 22 yard field goal.
And even if we still HAD gone for that 4th and 1, if not for Martinez inexplicably deciding to try and bump 260 pound Albert O. down instead of tackle him fundamentally sound into his legs from the side(the easiest tackle in football, especially against big guys) we would’ve turned the ball over at the Giant’s 6 yard line, instead scoring a touchdown, which would’ve left us down 3-7, a little more than halfway thru the 3rd quarter.

Don’t get me wrong, Teddy played a good game.
But the amount of talking heads who’re forgetting that we needed to go for and convert 4th downs in all THREE of our 1st three scoring drives with him or we would’ve been down late in the 3rd quarter to a team that just gave up 30 points and lost to a guy who wasn’t good enough to see the field in the XFL a season ago, and seem to sincerely believe he’s suddenly a top 5-10 quarterback, is weird.
