A perfectly reasonable decision for a coach who is a 3 game losing streak away from unemployment. Teddy is what he is, and that can, with good defense and an improved ground game, get your 9-7, maybe 10-6. No chance of more than 1 or 2 playoff games, but, enough to get a new contract. Drew? He could easily make this team 4-12 or 12-4. The ceiling is far higher and the floor far lower. I’d probably make the same fall. Question is whether Teddy can stay healthy for 16 weeks, something that has been hard for him. I like Bridgewater the man a lot (not that I don’t like Drew), so, I’m fine with this. Fact is, maybe Teddy has another level that playing with a better group and a strong D gives him the confidence to achieve. And he’s not old, so, he has as much chance of being here 4-5 years as Drew does. We’ll see.

Last year I kept thinking how well an Alex Smith would fit with the Broncos. Pretty much a guy that embodies those traits. Let’s see if it’s enough.
