Loved the Time of Possession today! That is a winning formula. Reminded me of my days watching Navy football. Little is more deflating for an opponent than allowing 4+ 3rd or 4th down conversions on any drive. Kudos to Vic for trusting the offense to get the needed yards. Great to get the first W so convincingly. Go Broncos!

Hi guys….

What a result!
If I had a son, I’d rename him Teddy, in fact, I’m gonna call both my daughters Teddy!
The highlight was how upbeat RK was, so has “show me mode” become, I believe mode?

hey guys!

do y’all jeudys absence for the next few months is a great opportunity to experiment with some different personnel packages? some more 12/13 personnel?

also, shoutout mike ford! he’s not getting much attention but he was flying down the field on the coverage units. looks to be a good pickup!

My good men!

Victory is upon us! How ‘bout Riverboat Vic?! Von’s back baby! And Teddy isn’t steady—he’s gutsy. I still carry a heavy heart for Drew but man is it easy to fall in love with Teddy. RK—there’s a relationship metaphor in there somewhere… Also, love how Vic has been buttering up George Paton with two game balls now! Riverboat Vic is coaching like his vocation is on the chopping block. Rightfully so!

Love,

Awesome win this week! I didn’t see Surtain back in the game after that missed tackle, however. Does it feel odd to bench him for one mistake, in a blowout win no less? I don’t understand the thinking there.

As you know I always start my comments with a “Gentlemen.”

Today, I find it much more fitting to start with “MY BOYS!”

Obviously there are loads of observations but I’ll limit my questions to one. Tim Patrick looked outstanding in the pass game, but I think the main thing I noticed was how much he was motioned to the interior for run blocking. If he can play this sort of TE/WR role do you think he can do enough to get an extension?

PS. It was great to see the bar on 9News this morning!

Awesome first game! Teddy looked really good but I still want to see it consistently before I get too excited. I would still like to see more done on first down, it just seems like we run it every time. The one time I remember throwing it on first down, outside of the two minute drill, was the dropped KJ bomb. It just seems like Pat could move some more passing plays onto his play sheet for first down.

My Peoples!

Teddy looked good. Something different watching him complete damn near every pass. I wont say I am not still nervous about how far Teddy can lead this team, but after yesterday I will say I am a whole lot more confident that the talent around him will make Teddy look better than he ever has. It goes both way, Teddy got his play makers the ball.

On the other end I wasn’t a fan of Fuller. Jones picked on him and pretty much won that battle. Fuller had one good play to deflect a touchdown but all in all i thought it was a very poor outing for him.

What a sweet, sweet Victory!

Feels great getting back to a W to start the season. Use to be the norm but almost forgot what it felt like!

Teddy Big Nuts ? showing why he was the right choice. How about that 4th down conversation rate and I think he threw all of them, what a boss. After that game no way you can argue In Drew’s favor. Lock has never done what Teddy just did. Throwing darts and dimes under heavy pressure. Stiff arming and then throwing dimes! Making NO mistakes. You love to see it!!!!

Hopefully watching Teddy yesterday was a lesson for Drew. He looked so calm yesterday never flinching or looking nervous. Just calmly walking around like he was strolling through the park, head held high. Cool customer.. haven’t seen that in a long time from the Orange & Blue.

I legitimately feel like we can be really good and I haven’t felt that way in a few years.

Also Melvin Gordon showed why he is the starter as well. Williams looked explosive at parts and was okay, but let’s be real here.

Hopefully Jeudy has a speedy recovery. Shoutout Jeudy for getting me the Over on the 4.5 catches though. Looked amazing out there.

Wow that felt good. An enjoyable September game. Happy for Vic and the coaches and all of the players. You could tell that starting off the season strong was important to them.

My big takeaway is the offense and obviously Teddy played very well. But I think the RB rotation is going to be the engine of this team. It was known when he came here that Shurmur preferred using one bell cow back in his offense. Last year he had two backs that were entirely different players and you could tell from the jump that Shurmur had no idea how to call plays for them both and still keep the offense churning. He actually was horrible at it. Now he has two guys that are interchangeable and he can keep his game plan and play preference no matter who is in the game. It is how he likes to coach so I am glad we are set up this way. Some coaches like the thunder/lightning approach or change of pace backs but Shurmur clearly does not. I love Phillip Lindsey, but this is the better RB room for this coaching staff.

Hey Fellas,

During the first half it became crystal clear to me that Noah Fant is going to have a huge year with Teddy – then Jerry got hurt and “huge year” turned into “monster year” IMO. With Jerry now out and Courtland working his way back, Is Noah now the candidate to lead this team in receiving moving forwards?

Also huge LOL at Joe Judge challenging the scoring play.

VICTORY MONDAY!

My dudes, feels great to open the season with a big road victory. One down, nineteen to go. My question is that despite the impressive win what are your season long takeaways? Overreacting to sixty minutes of football when in many cases you have multiple seasons of data seems like a bad idea, but at a certain point what you’re seeing *should* override your priors. Teddy was great 2/6 on passes 20+ and a big drop (which is better than it sounds), he was a stunning 7/7 on passes 10-19 yards deep, 13/15 on passes 0-9 yards. Pretty good game! Vic went for it three times on fourth down (all three were the overwhelmingly positive EV play) and converted every one! Can’t ask for much more out of a week one road game.

In no way shape or form am I trying to take away from the impressive win. However, how much of this do you see as “real” for the better teams? Daniel Jones looks like he can’t grab his ass with both hands and it seems “easy” to have confidence and run an ideal gameplan when you’ve got Daniel Jones on the other sideline. Up next you have the Jaguars (Jesus Christ) and the Jets at home in September. While I’m higher on the Jets than they showed, I’m not high enough to think that they can beat the Broncos at home in September. Will Vic still be as aggressive when it’s Lamar Jackson or Ben Roethlisberger on the other side? Will Pat Shurmur show as much confidence in Teddy when you’re facing a QB that can score on every drive? How will the offense function without Jerry Jeudy, who was open every snap, on the field? Do you see the same level of aggression, confidence, and execution as the degree of difficulty gets turned up?

This was a great win, I had the Broncos as a 7 seed before the season and I think Week 1 showed that they can comfortably beat bad teams. I don’t see the “good” teams as an auto loss, it’s the NFL shit happens! The Broncos look more than good enough to take advantage of the bad side of variance when it hits good teams. That wasn’t the case in years past, maybe they can’t beat the great teams but I don’t see the Baltimores and Pittsburghs as unbeatable. Unfortunately, the Chiefs do seem unbeatable, but this is the best I’ve seen Denver look in sometime. It’s not just playing bad teams either: Jerry Jeudy, Courtland Sutton, KJ Hamler, Albert O, Noah Fant, Teddy Bridgewater, and Garrett Bolles all are young players with good pedigree or good priors. Here’s to a fun season!

I was team Teddy and I was still blown away yesterday. He looked like the guy people thought he could be 5 years ago. Fully healthy, weapons around him, and given the starting job…. who knows what will happen but i’m excited! Purely based on the eyeball test i think that was maybe the best played QB game since you know who. Not perfect but pretty close.

Only disappoint (other than JJ injury) for me was the Oline. Might we see Muti soon?

Cheers to 1-0.

Super excited about the win. First thing is, if we are a “playoff” caliber team we should be not just winning these next 2 games but beating them like a playoff team should. Looking at the score of yesterday’s game it definitely could have been even better that would have showed the rest of the NFL that the Broncos are real.

2nd: We didn’t talk much about the O-line yesterday, was there anything that stood out to you about that group? Saw Bolles get blown back on a pull that made me laugh, any worry about Risner? Thought he struggled a bit

Lastly, Appreciate yalls coverage and love that we got to start off strong for once since I became a member in 2018.

Wow, I’m super impressed with Teddy. He played a near flawless game and after listening to his post-game press conference it is clear that he is a very mature leader. There were some heartbreaking mistakes made in that game, but he has the mindset and respect of the team enough to not miss a beat and keep us in the game. How do you think the Giants defense stacks up to other teams on our schedule?
