Hi guys,
First half of yesterday’s pod left me a little flat, expecting a 6-9 win season, but then you turned me around a little, now I’m at 7-10 wins only due to our defence being very very good, lowered expectations now with the 2 QB’s not able to pull away. And making it worse is reading Bears fans and media reports of Justin Fields efforts with his arms and feet! Cheers
Andrew Mason
They’re a playoff team. I firmly believe this. But I expect this is going to be a playoff team in the same manner as clubs such as the ’17 Bills, ’17 Jaguars and ’20 Bears — or, to go back further, the ’97 and ’99 Bucs, the ’05 Bears, the ’09 and ’10 Jets, etc. And I fret that the QB issue is going to lower the ceiling on a team that has an awful lot of talent.

Thankfully yesterday was an excellent training camp for a young, budding QB! Justin Fields was near perfect in red zone drills, getting 4/4 TDs easily including a rushing one, the reports could not have been more effusive about how masterful, talented, impressive, and incredible he was.
On the one hand, we shouldn’t get too hung up on a couple bad practices of ours and shouldn’t pay too much attention to what Fields is doing. It’s training camp, it’s early. On the other hand, I don’t know if Drew has ever had a set of drills in any training camp like that since joining the Broncos (tell me he has please). And we have to look at new information and developments and the information we have. Based on the information we have so far, Paton has to be getting pretty nervous that he may have made a glaringly bad decision that would be universally panned for years. I don’t want to say let’s cross our fingers that Justin Fields is bad, so I guess let’s cross our fingers that we have a QB better than Fields within a couple years…

Zac and Mase, This is a challenge directed at you two to join the DNVR guillotine league. I will pizza bet both of you that I will outlast you, But first you must join us in our quest! Can you make it past the first week? Can you be the one that survives at the end?

After about 3 years of freeloading, you got me. I love the pods and haven’t missed one since I found the BSN Broncos Podcast in the 2018 offseason. Since this is my first comment, I wanted to introduce myself. I am another listener from North Dakota, currently living in Fargo. I have been a fan my whole life and have planted my flag in Vikings Country. I have been to 5 games in my life so far, but have yet to witness a win! 4 of the 5 games we have been leading coming into the 4th quarter only to blow it. I may be bad luck. I hope to change this as I am going to be in Jacksonville for week 2 this year! If we lose, you can blame me. I have only been to 1 game in Denver and have made it a goal to watch the Broncos play in as many stadiums as I can in my life. Thanks for all of the hard work. I truly appreciate the great coverage.
P.S. I will be in Denver later this year and have already told my wife that I am spending some time at the DNVR Bar to get my member beer!

Fellas,
The ‘Field of Dreams’ game was a success for MLB. Is there an equivalent you would like the NFL to try?

The prison game in The Longest Yard?

Cheers Mase, always great to get a reply!! I’m with you, but Justin Herbets skills scare me, leaving us sadly 3rd in the division, but……a long way to go

Hey, fellas! New DNVR subscriber and first-time commenter 🙂 Happy to share a name with one of you distinguished hosts! Thanks for all the awesome work you do. You keep me sane every day as I work out in the sun and smoke. Yesterday, you were talking about potential QB trades, and my mind immediately went to Nick Foles. He’d have a relatively small cap hit. His QBR last year was 32nd in the NFL, but he didn’t exactly have a ton to work with, and he’s only 2-3 years removed from a Super Bowl and another good playoff run. What would you think of this trade as a short-term deal?
Drew
Edit: Don’t know why I mentioned sharing a name with one of you hahaha. Just edit this out if you read my question. ??♂️
