Fellas, as much as we’re all hoping for the Broncos to trade up to 4 or 5 for a QB, I think Paton is going to play it smart and see who falls to 4 or 5 on draft day. Mock it or not, I’m pretty sure the first 4 picks will be Lawrence (Jags), Wilson (Jets), Fields (9ers), Lance (Falcons). With Matt Ryan’s restructure it looks like Lance is a perfect fit for a “project” QB, and the price for a bison sized question mark is probably going to be higher than Paton wants to spend. That leaves Mac Jones presumably left at 9 which, sorry Zak, it doesn’t look like the Broncos are interested. Assuming Sewell presumably goes at 5 (Bengals) and Pitts at 6 (Dolphins), I think the odds are that the Broncos trade back to the mid teens and draft CB or ILB, what say you?

New Monday series from yours truly, every Monday will be a quote from one of my 3 favorite shows, The office, Parks and Rec or Brooklyn 99 with a question relating to the quote.

“Never Half Ass 2 things, whole ass one thing”— Ron Swanson
Would you rather Trevor Lawerences with his pedigree and talent, who only puts in 50% effort or a guy such as Trevor Siemian or Brett Rypien who puts in 100% effort

Hey guys! Long time no comment hope all is well. First thing: I feel like every episode that opens with Zac and Mase is “what’s up my friend how you doing” and “oh I’m alright” ?. I love it. Anyways, I’m not clear on how draft capital limitations work as far as trading goes, but my friend seems to think that in order to get fields the broncos would have to trade someone 3 first round picks? My response was he is a rookie not Joe Montana. That’s gotta be way too much right?

How well do you think #BroncosCountry will handle seeing Lance, Fields, or Jones having great success on other teams? Will the boo birds be louder than ever if they’re stuck watching Teddy Bridgewater and Drew Lock going three-and-out on a regular basis?

Greetings Gents!

I’m officially post jab 1, it’s a true relief to be moving in the right direction. As we are moving closer to the draft it feels like taking a qb in the first is a real possibility. I’m interested to see who the Broncos consortium is at Trey Lance’s 2nd pro day. After the brain trust has taken in the pro day, and IF the Broncos have fallen in love with either Lance or Fields, do you think it’s more likely that we would trade up before draft day or on draft day to see who’s available for the taking?

Thanks for all you guys do!

Hey guy’s,
So all about this stuff about if the scheme does this or that well we obviously know it holds players back and costs games. As I recall during the post game interview after the titans game fant was asked what happened after he didn’t see the ball during the second half and he said the game plan changed. And the same thing the next game against Pittsburgh. So here is my question who is in control of that why would you be defending him calling him middle of the road oc when any sane person would not be making changes that are working. Sorry for the rant just don’t see any hope behind this guy.

My guys – this was the best 3-ring circus yet. I loved it!

Melvin was a champ. It was so cool getting to know him better through the pod. Great guest. While I’m still salty about Phil no longer being a Bronco, I’m really pulling for Melvin this season.

But… the best part of the circus was the shoutout to Miami of Ohio!!! I graduated from Miami in 2013 and am a proud alum. In fact, the “1809” in my name is because Miami U was founded in 1809. Those of us that went to Miami will often say that Miami was a university when Florida still belonged to Spain.

I must have looked like a crazy person when Zac and RK were trying to guess Zac Dysert. I was listening to the pod while grocery shopping and was grinning ear to ear and wanting to shout ZAC DYSERT for all of Aldi to hear. Great stuff.

OK quick football question… we’re in the midst of evaluating QBs and I’d love your take on what metrics matter the most in your evaluation. We’ve got QBR, PFF, TD to Interception ratio, plus all the intangibles that you pick up when watching a guy play. When evaluating a QB, which of these evaluation tools matter the most?

hey guys!

can we show some love to the 2018 broncos real quick?

just looking at the roster, i was surprised at how good the roster was. the edge rusher room was stacked (von, rookie chubb, shaq, shane ray), and the o-line had some legitimate depth to it (paradis, turner, mcgovern, bolles, ron leary, veldheer, wilkinson). then you had phillip lindsay going off in his rookie season with royce freeman being a great compliment to him and a receiver room where courtland sutton was the wr3 for most of the season.

then you look at the coaching staff. the one that gets me the most is the offensive line coaches. sean kugler and chris strausser are both great offensive line coaches and the broncos had *both* of them on their staff. klint kubiak is now an OC and he was the QB coach of that team.

and lastly, 2018 is the last time in years that the broncos were actually somewhat relevant in december. if y’all remember they were 6-6 heading into a stretch of ‘winnable’ games and were talked about as a sleeper playoff team. obviously they fell apart at the end but that was a pretty good team looking back. that first game against the chiefs is the closest they’ve been to competitive with them in years, too.

I’ve watched this team since the 70’s, bleed orange the whole time. Suffered through 4 consecutive Super Bowl loses, but stuck it out till back to back wins and beyond. Elway wasn’t the greatest GM in our history, but the team is so close now. Paton’s moves are looking so good and now we are on the hour of one of the biggest decisions in about 11 days. New QB or stay the course? It may define us for years to come. As Lawrence and Wilson are unlikely to be in play, who would you each hook your cart to out of Fields, Lance and Jones for our future or do you trust Lock more? You can only pick one.

Listeners feel free to speak your peace here too.

There seems no better time than an off season of lies and deceit to read

Smoke – by Henry David Thoreau

Light-winged Smoke! Icarian bird,
Melting thy pinions in thy upward flight;
Lark without song, and messenger of dawn,
Circling above the hamlets as thy nest;
Or else, departing dream, and shadowy form
Of midnight vision, gathering up thy skirts;
By night star-veiling, and by day
Darkening the light and blotting out the sun;
Go thou, my incense, upward from this hearth,
And ask the gods to pardon this clear flame.

Long time no comment, so let’s keep it short. Why is everyone so sure it’s Wilson #2 to the Jets and not Fields?

Happy Monday guys! I hope your week is off to a great start.

The draft is approaching! If you’re George Paton, how do you approach the RB position? You have a highly paid starter, backups already in place with Rolls Royce/Mike Boone/LeVante Bellamy, and a few other depth pieces. Do you grab a complimentary back? A dynamic pass catcher? A speedy gadget dude? Can’t wait to hear what ya’ll think!

Also, debate time. Green sauce or red sauce on your enchiladas?

1st round QBs from 2014-2019 (2020 qbs are unknowns still)
Murray-starter
Jones- Drew Lock zone
Haskins-bust
Mayfield -starter
Darnold- career backup
Allen-starter
Rosen-bust
Jackson-starter
Tribisky- career backups
Mahomes-starter
Watson- (almost in between with legal issues making him a bust)
Goff-career backup
Wentz- career backup (I actually believe in wentz but anyways)
Lynch- bust
Winston-career backup
Bottles-bust
Manziel-bust
Bridgewater- career backup

Starters-6
Backups-6
Busts-5
Unknown- 1 (Jones)

My point being, 1st round qb isn’t a slam dunk and a mistake could set us back for years (Paxton lynch anyone?)

In defense of Zac…….TAMPA FOR THE WIN!!!!

Zac you killed the draft don’t let those haters tell you otherwise. Of the three NFL cities in Florida I’d totally pick Tampa over the other two, Miami is too expensive for a road trip, Jax is too trashy, and Raymond James stadium is a great place to watch a game. You killed it Zac, enjoy that gold medal!!!!

I haven’t commented in a minute but figured I would reintroduce myself as I’ve got myself all lined up to get crushed by you guys in the red zone this week. I’m PUMPED!

I had a Broncos question all typed out but was listening to the pod and Mase answered my question before I could finish (shocker!)

Look forward to meeting you guys and will hopefully get to meet some more of the DNVR fam when I move to Denver here in a few weeks!

Cheers fam!

How aligned do you think Broncos and Vikings draft boards are? Could this lead to one jumping the other for the same high ranked player falling in draft?
