Fellas,
The idea that was mentioned on the Friday pod about Deshaun to the Raiders had me almost laughing out loud on a quiet plane. Not because its ridiculous for Deshaun to be in Vegas, (that actually makes more sense to me than I feel comfortable with), but thinking about Derek Carr going and redeeming the Carr name for the Texans is just priceless to me!
Stafford to LA is wild news and I think puts the Rams in a really powerful spot to be playing football in February. Taking a break from QB talk for a minute, are there any other free agents or potential free agents that could be interesting to the Broncos in the coming months?
Cheers to the last week of 2020 football!

MY BOYS!
I hope y’all are doing well. Regarding yesterday’s podcast, I completely agree with you guys on getting a young hedge with upside as opposed to a boring mediocre hedge. And I want Gardner Minshew. He is so swag and I think we could use that in Broncos Country. So I’m all in on getting him as a hedge. Now let’s hop into today’s question.
I read an article on ESPN+ that ranked every team’s draft last year. The Broncos were DEAD LAST. I was very, very surprised by that. I personally think we should be around the middle, or maybe ranked 20th. But last seems quite ridiculous to me. We got some really great players, including Jerry Jeudy, who struggled but he’s gonna be a stud, KJ Hamler, and Albert O. On top of that, we got players who have a ton of potential and very well could be great players in the future including Netane Muti, Lloyd Cushenberry, and Michael Ojemudia. So where do you think the Broncos should be ranked looking back at the 2020 draft? As always, thanks for everything!
Much love,
Sebastian

If Dak were on the block, what would be wiling to trade and what is his ceiling with the current Broncos’ O?

Fellas,
I was wanting your opinion on this. Let say you are starting your own NFL franchise. You get to pick one of these guys as a rookie with the full knowledge of what they will become. Tom Brady or Patrick Mahomes?

Morning Boys,
Mase! Glad to have you back on the pod my dude. You’re the man. Ryan hope you had a good trip. Zac thanks for grinding on with the awesome coverage!
Here is a little optimistic thought for everyone here. We talk about happy Broncos memories and reliving the good ole days but don’t forget to be present in the moment! I think we may well look back at the memory of George Paton being hired as one of these all time great Broncos memories! We are in the midst of the journey back to the top everyone; don’t lose heart we are gonna get our QB one way or another I can just feel it!!!

Expanding the Watson to Denver topic: the world seems to forget that a new QB doesn’t just come in and play backyard football… they still have to run the plays called in by the coaches! Here’s how I envision the call going between Watson and his agent when Denver makes an offer:
Agent: “Hey Deshaun, Denver’s offering 312 first round picks, they really want you there! And those weapons! Jeudy, Fant, Sutton, Hamler, Patrick the list goes on!”
Watson: “Wait, isn’t Denver the defense-first team with a defensive head coach and a middle-of-the-road OC that calls runs up the middle every time they’re in 2nd and 10? Yeah, I’m good. Let’s talk to the Jets”.
On a national podcast a couple weeks ago, they were commenting on this and flat out said if Deshaun goes to Denver he’s wasting his prime while Shurmur is there.
Just curious on your guys’ takes, even with Watson, what could we expect from Shurmur? The best 5 receivers in the league won’t matter if they’re still diving up the middle on 2nd and 10.
Sincerely,

With reports that the Broncos were not in Staffords top few teams he wanted and Watson having zero interest, what is our biggest issues in attracting FA’s? Is it our losing record for 4 years, coaching staff, city, or players hurting us most?
Know you guys like idea of Winston or mariota – why would they come to Denver? Realize there is a chance of beating out lock for starting position but would Denver and our coaching staff really be best opportunity for them to get career back on track?

Trading back right now or trading back when you are on the clock – what has the higher value?

Wassup Guys! sorry I got Mase on a soap box yesterday with my question about Arenado but I’m glad you guys are as frustrated as I am about it. I’ll keep my questions football related today. What is your guys favorite playoff moment that is non broncos. One of mine has to be the 2004 wild card round, Seahawks vs Packers. The game goes into overtime and the Seahawks win the coin toss and Matt Hasselbeck infamously says “we want the ball and we are going to score” and then proceeds to throw a pick 6 on the first play of OT to end the game.
Thanks for the pod as always guys

hey guys!
can we talk about vic’s coaching tree real quick?
right now we have three fangio disciples at defensive co-ordinators in the nfl (donatell, renaldo hill and sean desai) and one at head coach (brandon staley). the packers are interviewing ejiro evero for their DC job so there’s a chance that there will be another one coming soon, and while raheem morris never coached under fangio, les snead gave a presser last week and said that morris will be learning vic’s defense to implement with the rams moving forwards. so that makes potentially 5 teams running some form of this defense.
in a similar way to how the shanahan offense is the ‘in vogue’ offense, i think it’s fair to say that vic’s defense is being treated with the same level of respect. vic has his shortcomings as a head coach, but it’s pretty cool to see how well regarded he is a defensive coach.
that got me thinking- if you were an up and coming defensive coach in the league, wouldn’t it be in your best interests to join the broncos staff and learn under fangio (while he’s still here)? not too dissimilar to how offensive coaches who work under mcvay/reid/shanahan get fast tracked to head coaching jobs.

Hey guys! That was an interesting article on Graham Glasgow Zac. He definitely didn’t perform the way we expected, but it’s difficult to hold Covid against him, as well as the issues happening on both sides of him. How will Netane Muti impact him next year? Will there be competition at RG, or will Glasgow be given a chance to compete with Cushenberry at Center? I believe the Broncos have a potential out in his contract after this season, which may affect his future here.

Hey kings,
I keep hearing from Denver sports media that the broncos roster lacks depth. What areas in particular lack depth other than the secondary? O-Line? MLB?
Thanks for your input.

MY BOYS! What is on each of your Super Bowl food and beverage menus for Sunday? Let’s hear the appetizer, main course, and dessert offerings, please. Are you guys at all superstitious when it comes to what you will eat and drink, or not eat and drink on game day and/or during a game? For example, I will never have root beer during a Broncos’ game ever again, as that was the beverage I had when the Broncos lost to the Jaguars in the 1996 Divisional Playoff Game. I will also never have chili again when the Broncos play, as that was what I ate when Denver lost to Baltimore in the 2012 Divisional Playoff Game. Have a terrific, warm, sun-soaked Tuesday in the Mile High City. DNVRMY SALUTE!

How is the relationship affected between the Broncos front office and Drew Lock if none of these trades end up happening? How is the relationship with his teammates affected with guys like Kareem Jackson openly saying he is trying to recruit Watson?

I’m intrigued by the idea of Jameis Winston, but would need to learn more before getting behind that move. What do we know about Jameis as a person? I remember some reports of terrible off-field conduct from a few years ago and don’t want to invite the cancer of a bad-person into the broncos. Am I misremembering or miscategorizing him as a destructive personality? Any read on whether Jameis carries off-the-field risk?

Its the offseason and its time to get down to the serious questions.
So lets get to the hard hitters before bachelor season….. So who’s the strongest avenger?

Man I can’t believe it took me this long to realize how long Ryan has been skating free from my celebrity comparisons with the power I have as a subscriber! Hopefully he’s on when you guys read this: Patrick Wilson is the guy. Now let’s get Deshaun Watson lol
