Wanted to drop in a quick thought on the Deshaun Watson trade talks – Watson has control of his no-trade clause, so he holds almost all of the cards when determining where to go, right? So isn’t the question less about what the Broncos would give the Texans and more about what the Broncos can offer to Watson? If the Broncos can build up a convincing situation for Watson and he wants to come to Denver, it’s ultimately up to him to tell the Texans “Either trade me to Denver, or I sit out”. At that point if Denver just offers the #9 overall pick, what do the Texans do? Do they say “no thanks, we would rather have our QB sitting out than let him play for you and get the #9 overall pick”, or do they cut their losses and accept the trade? I’m sure they’d negotiate for more, but if Watson put his foot down, how much would it take to make the Texans think it’s worth it to accept rather than watch him sit out?

Fellas,
We are coming to the end of the bizarre 2020 NFL season. Is there anything that NFL was forced to change, whether that be with your job in the media or with the game itself, that you found to have helped the game for the better? There was so much negative with the protocols that were forced onto things that there has to be something that worked out for the better.
How say you?

Hey! Today is my first day of being a subscriber, I was wondering what the badge under your name is? This was an interesting question by the way

Hey y’all,
So anyway I’ve been Re watching some tape of this season just got a few things to point out Noah has excelled greatly this year just about all around just one knock I have is he should find the deeper hole in zones not 4 to 5 yards from the line of scrimmage and he would become way more explosive. Second on drew scrambling which was pretty rough the beginning of the season I don’t put all the blame on him. I’ve noticed that the receivers don’t help out at all they just continue there route or stand in place. Not sure if they don’t work on scramble drill or what not but that was big reason in the lack of success there. Surprisingly the one who stood out and tried to do something during those times was deshaun Hamilton. Just a few key things I’ve noticed so far I’ll let y’all know what else I come up with.

Hey guys, I’ve seen the future and am here to share with you what I saw. First off, a lot of reports come out about the broncos pushing hard to bring jameis Winston in to battle with lock, but Winston chooses to sign with the Pittsburgh Steelers after Big Ben mercifully decides to hang em up (my gf is a Steelers fan and made me add that last part). So the broncos instead add Andy dalton as the veteran hedge to lock. Now we get to the draft and with the 9th pick in the 2020 nfl draft the Denver Broncos… trade down with the Washington football team!! The football team gives up #19, their 3rd round pick this year, and their 2022 1st round pick (the same deal the chiefs gave up to get mahomes). Washington uses the 9th pick to select trey lance, someone their coaching staff sees as a young cam Newton mold, who they had a lot of work with in Carolina. And with the 19th pick the Denver Broncos select… CB Jaycee Horn who ends up finishing second on the team in interceptions his rookie season. Now, the Broncos show flashes again but don’t inspire and play to a 7-9 record. This leads us to the 2022 nfl draft where George Paton decides now is the time to bring in his guy at qb. The broncos build a package around the two 1st round picks they now have in 2022 and trade up to select… FUTURE RING OF FAMER, QB SPENCER RATTLER at #2 overall who becomes the greatest bronco to wear the #1 in Broncos history, with all due respect to Jason Elam. Who goes #1 next year you may ask.. with the first pick in the 2022 nfl draft, the New Orleans saints select… QB Sam Howell. The saints struggle thru the season after losing half their team to get themselves under the salary cap. Sorry for the long post but thanks y’all for listening!

The wrinkle in trading for DeShaun Watson is his no trade clause. Yes we can expect to trade a good bit of draft capital to get him, but he also has some control over that. Is he going to sign off on a deal if it’s harming the team he’s going to? He might be in a position to help his new team get a better deal.
I am wondering though: do we really want to trade for him?
I get the value that Watson has, but look at the situation here. He’s demanding a trade because he wasn’t consulted on team decisions. Is that a one time conflict with a team that’s mismanaged? Could he end up demanding that the Broncos make changes to suit him? Could we end up riding the quarterback carousel again?
It’s probably worth the risk, but my spidey sense is tingling.

Quick question for Zac: if #QBWinz are an important stat, why do you want Deshaun Watson? He’s gone 4-12 twice in 4 years and has only won 45.4% of his games. Even Drew Lock has a better win percentage for his career at 47.5%.
I’m firmly in the “trade for Watson” camp, but I’m also a fervent believer that QB Wins aren’t a thing, even Tom Brady can’t control 21 other players and the coaching staff to ensure a win.

How George Paton gets the Broncos back to the playoffs where they belong…..
1. Hires the Chevalier’s to assist with contracts and salary cap advice.
2. Agrees to deal with Breckenridge Brewery to be naming sponsor for the stadium.
“Strawberry Sky at Mile High” has a ring to it, don’t ya think?
3. Draft Kings gives Vic a app on when to take timeouts and to go for it on 4th down
4. Drafts Hassell cattle company to “beef” up the O and D lines
5. Sets up program where players go to MSU to get online training. Tackling 401, TD 331 are two of the most popular courses. All rookies mandated to take “beat the Raiders 101”
6. Requires Thunder to go to Green Mountain dental to take care of the smile.

hey guys- couple things;
1) is anyone else bummed about rivers retiring? to rk and zac specifically- does it feel as weird to y’all as it does for me? i lowkey feel like part of my childhood has died lol
2) mase- what are your thoughts on jamie newman on day 2? i LOVE the tools. i see some cam newton. maybe not as dynamic as a runner (although it’s not too far off) but significantly better deep ball accuracy. and the leadership traits are definitely there.
you touched on paton and pat fitzgerald having a relationship and sharing an agent (which is also why i’ve been thinking rashawn slater is a sleeper pick if they stay at 9 although he might go before then) but paton also shares an agent with wake forest HC dave clawson. obviously the broncos scouted wake players last year with strnad, hinton and bassey but if they’ll definitely have the resources to get more info on newman if they’re so inclined.
my route of choice for the broncos was to always go with drew + toolsy day 2 qb (similar to what the eagles did with jalen hurts last year) but that dream kinda died when desmond ridder said he wasn’t declaring but i’m 100% on board with a drew/jamie newman qb room next season. what do y’all think?
LouDrock
Hey guys,
So, I’m 90% certain that we won’t go after Watson. I don’t think a new GM wants to go the next three years without any first or second round picks.
However, I’m not overly certain that Paton thinks Lock is the guy either.
How would you rank both the likelihood AND the sexiness of the following scenarios for the Broncos next QB, if we put aside Lock remaining the starter and Watson being a no go.
1. Trade for Wentz
2. Trade for Dak
3. Trade for Stafford
4. Move up to #3 in the draft and take Fields or Wilson
5. Sit at #9 (or trade back) and take best QB available – Mac Jones for example.
Cheers guys. Stay safe.

Lets play you’re the GM. We know Zac will draft Mack Jones, RK will sell his soul for Watson, Mase, what would your plan be for the Broncos QB in 2021?

Hey guys love the questions you had for Paton on Tuesday ….outta the mountains of idiotic questions what is wrong with some of denver’s media at that radio station swore I heard one of them ask Adam Schefter ” you would think because of Paton in minnesota that pat shurmur has more favor with Paton them FANGIO right ” ??? And Schefter was puzzled saying No I don’t think that at all that doesn’t make any sense he wants the best coaching staff and it has nothing to do with relationships lol …..smh ??♂️ some of denver media has to reach it’s embrassing ….any who based on what their saying it will take ??? To get watson ?

Hey gents,
Just wanted to let you guys know you did an excellent job yesterday on the “TMPA Brady” podcast (winky face). It got me all fired up for the NFC Championship.
Need some homer energy today so I’d like to offer up the game of “Oscar moment”. Pick a player on the Broncos roster that is in need of a motivational speech going into the offseason and give them some inspirational lines of encouragement that would win you the Oscar. This would be the part of the movie where the hero turns it all around and gets the boost they need to overcome their circumstances.

Hey guys,
First time commenting after listening on my long daily drives to work for over a year.
My question is: With the situation that Melvin Gordon is in, the possibility of his contract getting voided, and with Lindsay being a restricted free agent, could you see the Broncos drafting a running back like say, Najee Harris from Alabama? Lindsay is almost certainly coming back for at least one more year, but I’m not sure how long he can really last as the lead back if Gordon is gone. I don’t think Harris will drop into the 2nd round, but could the Broncos drop back and end up getting him later in the first?
Peace guys.

MY BOYS!
Haven’t commented in a while but wanted to say I’ve really liked what I’ve seen and heard from George Paton so far and I think it will be great to have someone new running the team with new I deas. The last Peyton worked out pretty well for us. Last weeks talk about the spaghetti sandwiches made me think of something very similar that I like but haven’t had in a long time. Crack open a can of chef boy ardee beffaroni, put butter and pepper in it and nuke it in the microwave and put it on your bread for a great carb sandwhich. I know it sounds unconventional but its is great!

Hey boys,
It seems likely that the Eagles are gonna stick with Wentz moving forward. Could you see them shipping out Hurts as a way to appease and make nice with Wentz? Would you like to see the Broncos make a deal to acquire Hurts?

MY BOYS! If the salary cap ends up being $188 million, as projected by Brandon McManus, how does that change the Broncos’ cap and player management this offseason? I leave you all with a quote by the German poet, Novalis, “The artist belongs to his work, not the work to the artist.” Have a terrific Thursday. DNVRMY SALUTE!
