Food for thought! There are always solutions, never problems. It is not out of the realm of possibility that you could package your next two first round picks to draft a QB and let his cheap salary offset Wilson’s high cap hit over the next three years. There are always solutions if they don’t believe Russell is going to be their guy.

Klint Kubiak looks like Murr from impractical jokers.

I know this season seems like it is over. It is!

That’s all I’ve got.

I remember back in August when RK excitedly talked about how much fun this season is going to be. New coaching staff, new QB, new vibes. A turn around which could see us as Superbowl contenders within the year. An electric offence which will be able to hold leads for our defence to pin their ears back and finish out games. Alas. How did we get here? How did we get worse? What did Broncos Country do to deserve this? I’m usually not a negative guy but I also wanted to vent about my frustrations and wallow with my fellow Broncos fans.

My question is with Klint Kubiak calling plays, what do Nathaniel Hackett and Justin Outten actually do? You know… other than rehearse the line “We will go back and evaluate everything” for their inevitable losing press conference.

Guys at this rate, my upcoming trip to Denver is now solely to visit the DNVR bar and tear it up at the tailgate with a small detour to watch the Broncos get smacked by the Chiefs on the side. Thanks guys for still keeping me excited to visit Denver and for thanks for being the only reason to wear my Broncos jersey with some pride.

We are embaressing…. with that being said, i got my tailgate tockets for the cheifs game and look forward to meeting everyone there and hope everyone is ready to make a good time of a bad situation! Because that game will not be good for us you guys are the only reason i am still excited to go. I apriciate you guys making each big L easier to deal with. Broncos Country.. lets ride!

I want us all to imagine an alternate timeline where Paton doesn’t sign Wilson to a contract extension in the preseason. We find ourselves here after the Raiders loss, and Paton isn’t feeling too good about Wilson as the future starter.

He could let Wilson walk after one year, that’s true. He’d save some of that sweet sweet Walmart money, but what would he have to show for it? We wouldn’t have any draft capital to go get a better quarterback. Free agency would be an option but the top prospect available would be Russell Wilson. Maybe Bridgewater would come back for the right price!

Then of course there’s the possibility that Wilson had balled out. We’re at 9-1, heading to the playoffs! Then the Broncos would be in the awkward position of having to franchise tag the guy that they just traded two years of draft capital for. There’s no way that Wilson would sign an extension here because he could make more on the open market. Even if we did tag him, we’d be paying about $45M which is more than double his cap figure for 2023.

The moment we traded for Wilson, we were committed to him starting for two years. The contract is built to support that. In 2024, we will have a draft pick again and if the wheels have totally come off, it will be a good pick. Then we can move on from him in 2025 if our new prospect is ready.

That said there’s still a very good chance that Wilson can deliver in 2023, once we get rid of Hackett.

Please not another rookie head coach.
Please not another rookie head coach.
Our last successful rookie head coach was Dan Reeves. Since then, the Broncos have hired Wade Phillips (was an interim HC for the Saints in the 80’s), Josh McDaniels, Vance Joseph, Vic Fangio, and now Hackett.
Please not another rookie head coach.
Right now, we need to right the ship. As disappointing as the John Fox era was for us who were expecting Super Bowl wins, he did a damn quick job of fixing McDaniels’ mess. The Broncos went from their worst season ever in the 16-game era to the playoffs the next season with TEBOW at QB. While he didn’t bring home the championship, John Fox was a big part of us being a real contender again.
Please not another rookie head coach.
Let’s find a retread who will get us back to being a complete and complementary team.

Sign Adrian Peterson. We would have a HOF quarterback and running back. Who could stop us? Oh, that’s right, ourselves… at some point, this has to end, right? We are slowly becoming the browns. I started listening to this pod during the BSN days. Not once have we been good. Maybe I’m the curse? At least the broncos in the Xbox madden league are half-decent. They got some DAWGS. I miss Tim Patrick. Like seriously, somebody get pissed off and dawg somebody on the field. That’s the end of my rant thanks, boys, for everything you do hope you have a great holiday!!

Hey gang; reminder #1: Va Beach Broncos is a father (me, Billy) and two sons (Nathan, 19 and David, 14).
Reminder #2: Va Beach is close to North Carolina, and about a 5 1/2 drive to Charlotte. So within days of the schedule coming out, David (who has a thriving dog-sitting business) bought 3 tickets to the Panthers game; imagine the anticipation throughout the summer!
We’re all still “kind of” excited, but more for the road trip, the hotel stay, the wandering through a beautiful city, and of course seeing an NFL game (which the boys have only done once before).
a couple questions (for you or any other commenters): What should we write on our signs? Should we wear paper bags?
Second: I don’t suppose there will be any DNVR representation there? If not, David (our hopeful future sports journalist) would be glad to provide live updates and cover the press conference afterwards for you. We would just need 3 press passes.
Finally, if any other DNVR family will be there, and would like to meet for drinks the night before or after, feel free to reach out (757-383-3161).

Ma bois,
Rock Bottom, a short one today,
Glad Gordon is gone, he well deserved to be cut a LONG time ago. Maybe Grahm Mertz wisconsi qb is a good 6th round option, always had talent but never quite figured it out. Anyway, as an OSU fan and alum Give me Fields and the top 5 pick this year and 9 last year instead of suratin and russ, I love PS2 but we have had Champ on a bad team already, it just doesnt work. On the bright side, Go Team USA!!! 1-0 at half
Omaha, and Peace
