The Broncos mismanagement of the QB room comes down to one name… Brett Rypien. Brett was a UDFA 3 years ago. This was the last rookie investment the Broncos made at quarterback. No one in the Broncos organization believes Brett Rypien is a starting NFL quarterback, including Brett Rypien. In the last two years why haven’t the Broncos drafted any rookies, in any round to improve the QB room?
Prior to the 2016 draft we had a good roster with a glaring hole at quarterback. We drafted a rookie, brought in a cheap vet, and had one possible starter from the previous year. It looks like we are back in the same situation… Let’s not fool ourselves Trubisky, Wentz, and Mariota are basically just another Sanchez.
If Paton feels like there’s not a lot of separation in this draft and there’s a lot of value in the middle rounds then this may be the best opportunity to take a 1st round QB, despite the perceived “weakness” of the group.
If there’s no blue chip guy available when we pick but Pickett/Corral/Howell are there, I think it it provides a good chance to snag a potential franchise guy without missing out on opportunities to upgrade the pass rush and offensive line. In fact, I could see a scenario where they trade down and ACQUIRE an extra pick and still get their top QB.

Hi guy,
If Paton signs Teddy, i think that guarantees we draft a QB, and i think Teddy can be signed for less than 20 million, what teams would be interested in him at 20 million plus? I dont think the list is very long. Cheers.

Great stuff fellas! Love rolling with you guys year round but especially this time of year.
And love that you guys are able to get a better feel for Hackett and can share with us. I am SO IN on this guy. For those that aren’t sure about him yet just think about this. Aaron Rodgers likes practically NOBODY and has no lasting relationships and he LOVES Hackett. Hackett can connect with anyone and that is what a great leader needs to be able to do.

Mase, with shows being exclusive to different streaming services that I don’t have, spoiler tags last as long as they need to!
I also see Darnold and Baker on the same level of underachieving. Baker didn’t have to deal with being surrounded by the utter void of talent and Adam Gase in New York or having an entire offense designed around 1 guy who’s good for about 8 games a season like in Carolina. Also, I am the entirety of the Sam Darnold fan club. So I guess that disclaimer should be noted however all she welcome! We meet every second Tuesday of the month with free punch and cookies!

What do you guys make of Pickett not being on time for his interview today? Does it actually hurt his stock?

I feel like we need to throw some cold water on the talk about getting a franchise QB via trade. When has that ever happened for any team? Sure there was the Eli Manning / Phillip Rivers trade thing at the draft, but when has an established, franchise QB ever been traded? If a QB is good enough for the Broncos to give up multiple 1st round picks and then some, he’s good enough that his team isn’t going to trade him. Imagine the Broncos had Rodgers and have been to the championship multiple times… now try to sell the fan base on trading him for first round picks and pinning our hopes on Jordan Love. Come on.
Deshaun Watson might be the only exception due to that franchise being a hot mess. Rodgers, Wilson and Kyler are not getting traded. Best we can hope for is they stay to the end of their contract and come to Denver via free agency.
This year is the same as last year, it’s either Drew Lock, a Draft Pick, or a vet to be named during free agency, but not a franchise level guy. That’s it.
Thanks for all you guys do, much love from Cali to Denver.
