Mile High Till I Die
More and more I’m starting to think that if we can’t land Russ or Rodgers in the off-season that Drew Lock will be our starter next year. We’ll go and get a QB in the draft and Drew Lock will start while the rookie develops and the front office will hope Drew plays well so we can trade him when our drafted QB is ready to start. Especially since Fangio and Shurmer are gone, and they had it out for Lock. Why would we spend 10 million dollars for Andy Dalton or Tyrod Taylor when we have a cost controlled, in house bridge quarterback? I kind of hate the idea of another bridge year but I hate it less than bringing in a washed up old quarterback for a bridge year

Oh god. I almost feel the same way about Dan Quinn and leftwich as I do Russell Wilson.(big pass) But not quite. I’m telling you not the gems of this coaching cycle are Dougy p and kellen Moore. Trust me.

Thanks vic.
Great guy. I appreciate him and admire him and also am glad to see him gone.

All offseason we will be talking about getting the quarterback but I feel like it will be all for nothing. Obviously Wilson, Rodgers, and Watson will be the main focus but the odds of us getting them are slim to none. Seahawks will probably let Pete Carroll go and keep Russ, it and looks like the Packers have mended the relationship between Rodgers. Watson still has legal issues and doesn’t seem like Denver is a preferred option. Once we miss out on these quarterbacks the only option is to draft one but no one pops out yet. So I think we should trade back in the draft and accumulate another first round pick. Select tackle/guard Kenyon Green from Texas A&M this year and roll with Lock. In Locks last 9 starts he has put up 60.8% completion percentage, 13 total tds, 7 turnovers, 88.9 passer rating, 53.2 qbr, and 221 yards per game. Two of those turnovers came from last second Hail Marys. If you average this into a 17 game season it would be 25 td, 13 turnovers, and 3757. These are not insane numbers but it would put him around the league average. He would have more tds and less int then Derek Carr who you guys have considered bringing to Denver. I think with a better offensive coordinator Lock can rank between 15-11 range of quarterbacks. What do you guy think?
The one thing that gives me a lot hope is the philosophical contrast between Paton and Elway when it comes to the coaching search.
The one thing Elway laid out right off the bat is that he wants an expert/elite X’s and O’s guy on one side of the ball. George Paton’s bottom line is to bring in a guy who can lead and motivate the ENTIRE team and is not necessarily looking for any particular offensive/defensive expertise. Ultimately, it’s the very fact that Vic’s defensive acumen far exceeded his other abilities as HC that led to his downfall and I’m really encouraged to see that Paton is seemingly taking a more open-minded approach this time around. Dan Quinn and Jim Caldwell seem like the obvious fits to me but I wouldn’t be surprised if he’d give some outside the box guys (Jerod Mayo?) a serious look.

Something a lot of people forget….Jim Caldwell had a winning record at his time with the Lions……THE……LIONS! ?
Would be more than happy with Caldwell ?

Hey guys! Wow, what a 24 hours. Fangio gone and the #9 pick secured.
Two questions for you…
1. Do you think Paton would at least enquire about trading for a HC like Mike Tomlin, John Harbaugh or Sean Payton?
2. Will the HC hire tell us the direction of what QB path we’re going down?
Cheers
Charlie

Bye, Ron! Left, which?
Although in an ideal world, I want a HC who is a Player’s Coach, someone who lets coordinators do their jobs, and they manage the game (smh Vic), but someone strong enough and respected enough to be listened to by the OC and DC. Think John Harbaugh. Are there are STs coaches who are nudging towards a HC role? I can’t think of any, but I spend little time analysing Special Teams Coordinators, let alone STs itself, shame on me!
Peace out fellas, and Broncos Country can do a little dance all day, excited for the future once more

I am all in on Leftwich. I said it last year, I said it all season. Give us Leftwich!

Wow….looks like Vic taught Brandon Stately everything he knows right – haha. What a game last night!
My only candidates would be Doug Pederson, Dan Quinn, and Jim Caldwell. End list. All successful head coaches already who would no doubt be even better there second time around implementing changes from what they learned the first time around. Pederson and Quinn took teams to the Super Bowl in their second years!! No first time head coach PLEASE!!

Brain Flores with Tua could be interesting???
Howler Bro Surf
Why is there no chatter for Todd Bowles? Is it a lack of interest by Denver or is he comfortable where he is?
Pretty exciting day and some interesting names for sure. I want whoever is going to bring us RWS or develop a young draft pick. I’m all the way out on AR12 now. 6 months ago, all in. He’s really put a bad taste in my mouth and I can’t mentally separate that from the on field play.
The Bears are no envy but I admire their swings at the QB position. They have drafted two top QB prospects with real investments, meanwhile, what have we done?? Like Zac says, no real investment at all.

Hey guys been a while since commenting, but in this situation have to share some quick thoughs on next HC candidates. The name I keep hearing is Dan Quinn this worries me because I feel it would just be going down the same track again with a defensive coach that’s not going to be able to take us to the next level. One name I’m interested to see if they interview is Brian Dabol seems like he has had a big role in getting Josh Allen career turned for the better and we will need someone who can develop a QB for the long term at some point in the near future. Who are the coaches you are concerned could continue to underwhelm with the Broncos?
TheOutlaw
I was somewhat surprised to see Brian Flores get fired, and I think he should be right up close to the top of the list in the coaching search this offseason. I’m all in on him being on the staff even at DC if other teams aren’t interested in him as a HC. Is a Hackett and Flores combo the dream scenario now??
Some People Call Me The Space Cowboy
Brian Flores firing is a shocker. He seemed like a real leader of men. He is proof of the NFL alternate statement “Not For Long” he just was a well respected coach who way surpassed expeditions on a short time ago. Bad QB play can make life tough for any coach! Would Broncos consider Brian Flores for HC? Maybe bring Fitzpatrick as a backup for a rookie!

My boys! This offseason is going to be insane and I can’t wait to see how it unfolds. Glad Fangio and Shurmur are gone. Now that the home/away opponents have been finalized, I’m looking forward to 2022! I’ll be going to watch the Broncos play in Baltimore, Carolina, and Seattle next year, and am going to come out for a home game at some point too. Like Mase, I too collect souvenir cups from each stadium I see the Broncos play in! I also will be establishing a Broncos supporters group here in central Ohio and have made arrangements with a local bar. More to come on that.
Browns fans here in Ohio are trying to run Baker out of town. What do you guys think about this option if Russ/Rodgers don’t pan out, and CLE doesn’t pick up his 5th year option?
Long live DNVR. Can’t wait to get back out there next year. That chicken sandwich sounds bomb.
Go Broncos.

I just want to chip in one observation about Coach Fangio as the organization turns the page. Back in September during the week of the Jets game, I saw an interview that Dre’Mont Jones gave on tv. The interviewer said to Dre’Mont that Coach Fangio had told the media that he was doing a good job but he had some areas in which he could improve. Then the interviewer asked Dre’Mont what those areas were. Dre’Mont looked stunned and said, “I’m not sure.” Yikes! He was learning about it on a tv interview!
I thought, ought oh…Coach Fangio is not a good manager. He’s a good coach but a poor leader, just as what Patton Freaking Manager said he is looking to find in the next HC.
I will be listening all offseason to the great content that I know you guys will deliver as always!
