Colorado State will have some new faces in the locker room next fall.

In addition to forward Rashaan Mbemba (6-foot-7) and guard Kyan Evans (6-foot-2), both of whom signed last November, there will be at least three more new players on the team in the 2023-24 season, potentially more depending on what happens with Isaiah Stevens or if anyone else decides to move on.

As things currently stand, CSU has lost four individuals to the transfer portal. Again, though, things are always in flux in the modern era.

As the offseason progresses, we’ll update this post with the latest information on the roster.

2023 transfer departures

Player | New School

John Tonje | Missouri

  • Coming off of the best season of his career, Ram Nation hoped to get a fifth season with John Tonje at CSU. Alas, the 6-foot-5 guard out of Omaha, NE, elected to look elsewhere for his final year of eligibility. And after receiving interest from a wide range of high-major schools, Tonje ultimately landed at Missouri under Dennis Gates.

Jacob Jennissen | TBD

  • Jacob Jennissen was projected to be a starter for the Rams before tearing his ACL again this past offseason. The 7-foot-1 center missed the majority of his freshman campaign rehabbing his first major knee injury and missed the entire 2022-23 season as well. While he has great potential if he can stay on the court, unfortunately it just did not happen for him in Fort Collins. He’ll leave the program having logged just seven total minutes over the last three years.

Isaiah Rivera | TBD

  • Much like with Tonje, Isaiah Rivera worked his way from the rotation to the starting lineup in 2022-23. After playing 381 minutes as a sophomore, ‘Riv’ more than doubled his time on the floor as a junior, averaging just over 28 minutes per game. A defensive presence, Rivera had a pair of crucial blocks in the heartbreaking loss to San Diego State in the Mountain West Tournament. But more than anything, Rivera will be remembered for summoning his inner Clay Millen on the assist to Isaiah Stevens to beat UNLV earlier this spring.

Baylor Hebb | TBD

  • Baylor Hebb’s role drastically increased in 2022-23. After playing in just 11 games and averaging a little over three minutes per game in his first season, largely due to injuries, Hebb averaged about 13 minutes over 33 appearances for the Rams this year. Widely revered as a tremendous teammate, Hebb worked incredibly hard and stepped up for CSU during a difficult year. His role would have surely decreased moving forward though.
