T.J. Ward to host free youth skills camp, celebrity golf tournament

T.J. Ward is one busy man.

The Denver Broncos safety is gearing up to host a youth skills camp as well as a celebrity golf tournament in the near future.

On June 27, children aged 10-13 can participate in Ward’s youth skills camp in Aurora. Registration goes from 9-10 a.m. and the clinic runs from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. It all takes place at the Denver School of Science and Technology located on 2000 Valentia St. in Denver, CO 80238.

Then, in a few weeks, the hard-hitting safety is hosting his T.J. Ward Foundation Celebrity Golf Tournament. Who will be joining Ward? His Broncos teammates Aqib Talib and Emmanuel Sanders for starters. Fellow football players Shareece Wright, Jairus Byrd, Julian Edelman, Joe Haden, Mark Ingram, Eddie Pleasant, former Bronco D.J. Williams, Austin Pettis, Patrick Chung, former Bronco Mike Adams and Tashaun Gipson. Also, NBA players Aaron Gordon, former Nugget Nick Van Exel and Mo Williams will also be competing.

In his first season with the Broncos, Ward recorded 74 tackles, two sacks, two interceptions and five passes defended. He’s one of the hardest hitting safeties in the league and played a hybrid safety/linebacker position in 2014 at times.

He’s an enforcer at safety and, apparently, a nice guy off the field with his free youth skills camp and golf tournament with aims to support such free events for underprivileged children.
