According the Denver Post’s Chris Dempsey, Denver Nuggets All-Rookie Second Team center Jusuf Nurkic is expected to undergo offseason knee surgery Wednesday morning for a slight tear in his patella tendon.
Nurkic, the 16th overall pick in last summer’s NBA draft burst onto the scene for Denver last season, averaging 6.9 points, 6.2 rebounds and 1.1 blocks per game in 62 games, including 27 starts.
The Bosnian center is expected to be sidelined three to four months, putting a halt to his offseason training, keeping him out of EuroBasket2015 and the Las Vegas Summer League, which the Nuggets will participate in for a fourth straight year beginning on July 10th.
Nurkic should be ready for the start of training camp, set to begin in late September.
