According to Christopher Dempsey of the Denver Post, Jarnell Stokes has won the Denver Nuggets’ 15th and final roster spot. The team has also waived Robbie Hummel and Nate Wolters.

Stokes, 22, had a productive preseason with the Nuggets averaging 5.6 points on 54.5 percent shooting and 4.4 rebounds per game. The 6-foot-9 big man can rotate between both frontcourt positions, something Denver needs since they plan to play Jusuf Nurkic and Nikola Jokic together often.

The 2015-16 D-League Most Valuable Player, Stokes averaged 20.6 points and 9.3 rebounds for the Sioux Falls Skyforce last season.

Denver brought six players to camp to compete for the Nuggets’ final roster spot in Stokes, Hummel, Wolters, Axel Toupane, JaKarr Sampson, and D.J. Kennedy. Toupane, Sampson and Kennedy were released last week while Stokes, Hummel and Wolters stayed on the roster throughout the remainder of the preseason.

With Stokes, the Nuggets have a reserve big man who can fill minutes in a pinch if Nikola Jokic, Jusuf Nurkic, Kenneth Faried, or Darrell Arthur are sidelined.
