Needs are needs. After letting go of Aaron Brewer in an attempt to clear cap space, the Denver Broncos had a hole at the long snapper position.
On Thurday afternoon, the team announced they had filled that hole, signing Casey Kreiter (CRY-ter), a first-year snapper out of the University of Iowa, to a one-year deal.
Kreiter, an all-conference performer in his senior year at Iowa (2013), has spent the last two offseasons in Dallas, competing for a spot with the Cowboys. Despite not ever garnering a roster spot, Kreiter did compete in six preseason games with the club.
The 6-foot-1, 250-pounder was an all-state linebacker in high school in Iowa before joining the Hawkeyes.
