Mike Bobo and his coaching staff are in the middle of The Grind. No, not the amazing video series which was put together by Colorado State Athletics, the coaching staff is grinding to find the next group of talented players to come to Fort Collins.

Almost every day we see players on Twitter announcing they’re “excited” and “blessed” to receive offered from Colorado State, and recently, one of them committed verbally.

Connor Kaminski, a linebacker out of Florida, is the player.

The young man, who’s part of the Class of 2017, stands at 6-foot-2 and 220 pounds, and plays at Viera High School in Melbourne, Florida. According to 24/7 Sports, he also had offers from Marshall, Samford, Eastern Kentucky and Charleston Southern.

In 10 games played as a junior last year, he racked up 44 solo tackles and 76 total tackles, including 8.0 TFLs. Kaminski also picked off one pass, which he returned for 14 yards, and defended another; he sounds like the type of versatile linebacker the Rams have been missing lately.

According to ESPN, he runs a 4.66 40-yard dash and has a 32.3 inch vertical jump. He’s an athlete which will likely only see himself improve with college weight training. Rivals has him rated as a two-star player. Also, per Rivals, Kaminski is the team’s second 2017 recruit. The first was Kamilo Tongamoa, a defensive tackle (6-foot-5, 290 pounds) from Merced, California.

Defense first for Bobo and Co. which is a little surprising considering he’s an offensive minded man. But, there’s no doubt the team has room for improvement all-around; Kaminski is a player to keep an eye on when he arrives on campus in 2017.
