I dig it. Let’s load up on Talent and take the best darn FOOTBALL PLAYER available. Flacco or bust!

I like it. Flacco will be fine and having a guy like Keemun as backup works too. Just don’t blow the early picks.

I like it too!
Flacco gives us a shot at the playoffs although he’s not the long term solution. So … don’t blow the REAL long term solution by wasting picks now. Let’s see how next year’s QB class stacks up after we’ve filled some roster holes with this year’s draft.

This is what I love about BSN reporting. Just really insightful reporting and really listening to what is said. Elway doesn’t seem to be that mysterious if you listen for the clues and the hints and that’s what you guys do so well. Thanks.

Best player available at 10? I’m betting a linebacker named Devon.

My guess now is a trade back in this round to maybe Washington so they can get a QB. Hopefully that nets us their 1st next year (which may be high!) and we can package theirs and ours to move up the board to draft “Justin” or someone else. This year would be a LB like White/Bush or a D-lineman in the mid teens. Maybe a guy like Risner if we drop into the 20s…

The contrarian take is…Elway knows there’s way too many smoking guns connecting the Broncos to a QB, and that deflates their negotiating position on draft day. A presser like this helps get back to neutral expectations.

That being said, Elway hasn’t been much for misdirection over the years, so Ryan’s tea leaf reading is probably correct.

Does Elway have a fetish for QBs over 6’5”? He has to open his mind to the fact that one size doesn’t fit all. Now if Flacco does well, great for the team and great for Elway. However if we have a season where Flacco goes down with an injury and no decent game plan behind him, all of Broncos Country should march down to Dove Valley asking Elway questions on why he didn’t have any backup plans… Keenum is his preference as a backup… you don’t always get what you want John.

Seems if we don’t go QB, we HAVE to trade back to get another first next year like Attackparrot said. Otherwise we’re likely to go 8-8 this year or slightly better and have too low of a first round pick to move up without the cost being incredibly high…as you guys always say, if it’s your guy – you get him no matter what. This just seems like we could lose another 2-3 years now by not biting the bullet and getting a young QB in here.
